Need help finding metric fitting....

I am having a devil of a time finding a M12 x 1.25 male/female elbow fitting (preferably brass). Does anyone know of a web site that sells metric fittings like this?

 

Hmmm, a metric pipe fitting. That one is going to be hard to find. The correct term for what I think you are looking is a street elbow.

I am trying to attach my new Fumoto oil drain valve to a 90 degree female/male street elbow fitting so the valve won't stick straight down from my oil pan.

 

I have a 1/4" x 1/4" street elbow male/female. The 1/4" is close to the 12MM, but not close enough for me to screw it into my oil pan. If I can find the 12MM, it will work perfect and substantially reduce the length of the valve protruding from bottom of the oil pan. This will be perfect but I can't seem to find this metric fitting - every fitting in the world you can imagine excpet THIS ONE seems to be manufactured.

 

12mm is going to be much closer to 1/2 in than 1/4. Either way, neither one will fit right. Will you really be gaining that much clearance anyway? That street elbow is going to extend down probably almost as much as just the valve by itself. Of course, I have not seen the valve.

Yep.....they don't have it...

 

The elbow is gonna put the entire setup down just as far as if you screwed in the fumoto by itself.

But - if you must.... try McMaster Carr.

If you can't find it, chances are..it doesn't exist.

 

Janster, nope it won't. I have a 1/4" street elbow and have dry fitted it....cuts 1/2-3/4 inch off the Fumoto extension from the bottom of the pan.....just need to find a metric elbow. Remember, I have the N-Series with the hose nipple which makes it about a 1/2" longer than the older part which did not have the nipple.

 

Yep, Metric is European. Can't find it domestically.

 

Of course. I meant primarily Euro...and I did in fact find one in the U.K. but too expensive.
