Do you need any paint prep when you use the plasti dip? I read where some needed to sand it down, but is this necessary? And just to make sure..this plasti dip is in a spray can, right?

Just clean the area real well, then make sure it's dry. Apply 2 light coats from about 12 inches away, and then 1 heavy coat about 4-6 inches away. And yes it's in a spray can...

Not at all, but I do still need to go over mine a few times. I went to light with the coats of paint.

so I got some adhesif backed vinyl, tried putting it on and totally fucked it up...what a waste of cash! I asked at Home depot for plasti dip and the guy looked at me as if I was from outer space...I've asked at every paint/hardware store and no one up here has heard of plasti dip!
I really want to do my valence, but I can't seem to apply the vinyl without getting bubbles or wrinkles...Is there a "how to" link...I've searched and found nada.

Plasti-Dip to see if I liked the look and how well it would hold up. Great so far! It's been two months. Been through the car wash twice and several long road trips. It it makes it 6 mos I'll keep using plasti-dip, if it doesn't I'll order some vinyl from sock.

haha! same thing happened to me when I went to Home Depot! I decided to look anyways and viola! I found it! Look in the paint aisle. They should have 2 types, the aerosol can, and the dipping can. Good luck!
