That is very true. 4 wheel heavy trucks for example f250 can't hang with a taco

I didn't say anyone had to agree with me. I was just throwing my opinion out. do what you want. When i say 4 wheel i mean mud and climbing, which in Texas is mostly what people do. And let me know where i said it the "only option for offroading"

so this is an opinion huh? you guys must do things differently in texas...

i didn't say you said that... it's called implied, here's the definition to that word: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/implied

do i need to get out a purple cayon for you?

point of your thread = get people to agree with you + not "logical" to spend the money to lift 2wd/4wd is true offroading

2wd offroading is good too...just like most things out there, it has its place and if your having fun with your truck why the hell not? i'd take a prerunner trd lifted w/ saw's or kings and alcan's in the back w/ some billies on 33's or a l/t kit on 35's anyday..i do alot of wheeling w/ my buddy that has an 07 prerunner that's all stock except for fipk and gibson catback and we always have fun out on the trails and he can go more places than our lieutenant with his 00f250 4x4 w/ a pro comp 6.5" lift and 315/75r16's!

Not trying to stir the pot here

If you have a 2WD and you lift it, as long as YOU like it is all that matters

If you have a 4WD and you think a lifted 2WD is stupid, that's your problem and also your opinion which doesn't matter.

If someone says something about your TRUCK don't get all butt hurt and go to battle, does it really matter, I'm sure your truck won't notice if you are defending its honor.

I love my 2WD Prerunner and I will be lifting it next month because that's what I want to do.

4WD or 2WD, these are the best looking lifted truck out there, and no matter how many driveshafts you have these are also some of the best running most capable trucks out there as well. (This is where we all stand on our tables holding our beers high and start humming My Country tis of thee or something patriotic like that)

And to quote Rodney King.....Can't we all just get along!

    Have a great weekend everybody!

    Gary

i couldn't care less, the point i was making is that bhtyler10 said his opinion and made a short sighted statement, and when people responded negatively then tried to play it off like he didn't mean what he said... he couldn't even stay true to his own opinion. so i called him out on it along with trying to inform him of his short sighted statement, and he wouldn't let it go. In MY opinion this argument ended around post #57... but i like to fuck with people :deadhorse:

bhtyler10 no hard feelings guy, i like to poke and prod and sometimes i do it a little too hard (you made it too easy tho) after all- we all own the best truck on the planet right? :drunk:

Have to agree with the best truck statement, I had a 2001 but got rid of it for something bigger, didn't feel right about car seats being held in with cargo straps in my access cab. Went to full size trucks for a while but now am back with an 08 Double cab and couldn't be happier. And Damn they look so good lifted!!!

    Cheers guys :drunk:

i almost bought a 2000 white access cab 4x4 off a friend of mine. it had 150k miles and it is the only vehicle that i would feel comfortable buying with that many miles... i had another friend in high school that had a 92 with 230k miles and didn't have any problems, and after watching the top gear special on killing a toyota i was sold :burnrubber:

I just went offroading today, all i got is my locker in the rear. And correct me if im wrong but 2wd doesnt mean you have 2 wheels turning. and 4x4 doesnt means you have 4 wheels turning. I noticed someone said that above. Only way to get all 4 is with locker front and wheel with 4x4. so that given. Technically a prerunner with a locker is the same as a 4x4 with no lockers, except the 2 back wheels turn on the prerunner and the two diagonals on a 4x4. Right?

So today, it was me, a v10 f250 4x4, and two jeeps. and i did each and everything they did. their jaw was literally dropped the whole time. Matter of fact so was mine. lol. This was the first real time i took it out. And my truck is stock! We did some rock stuff, hills, you name it. I couldnt be more happier except for one thing......

I wish i had a lift so i wouldnt have to worry as much about scrapping my mudflaps and banging my body! that said, im already saving up for a 3" coilover lift.

    Tacomas are awesome. :burnrubber:

Yep! All I have is the stock locker that comes with the TRD Off Road package.

It also surprised me because i don't ever have any problems engaging it or degaging(if thats a word) it. I love it

lol no. you can go however fast you want from wut I can tell...BUT thats just whats reccommended by toyota you know? and for people that dont really know how to properly use one. all the 5mph thing is for is that is wont engage when pushed unless your going 5mph or less...wow that got long( and is kind of random lol)

Thanks for clearing that up LOL!

I understand what you are saying, my question came from reading the owners manual and the little sticker in my truck.

    Thanks again
