First full day of college football and my freakin wife invites her mom over to hang out. I had to go up to work for a few hours, get home and they're watching HGTV or some stupid shit. I told her I'm going to take a shower, make a pizza, grab a beer and watch football but gave her about 30-45 minutes to finish their show. She made a comment about how it's early in the season, no good games are on yet, and the Longhorns don't play until 7. All good points. About to go to war though. This is MY house!

I guess I am lucky, wife is a horns fan and the in laws are 4 hours away. Course the horns aren't on TV here so maybe I am not so lucky after all.

Good luck in the war...those always go well :)

So buy 2 TV's - you can't be hogging it for 10 hours. That's just not fair to her. And, yeah, if the Longhorns aren't even on how can you complain too much?:D

I'll never have this problem. My wife (and in-laws) are die-hard Packer fans. I grew up in L.A., so don't really have a pro team and I'm happy to go along with her.

Best weekend ever: went up to her parents (this is when we were dating). Friday we hit up a Minnesota Twins game, Saturday a Milwaukee Brewers game, Sunday a Packers game.

Well she just tried a tricky tactic. She came up and said after their show I can watch football. Like it's HER house, and HER tv and HER decision. On top of that, she had grabbed me a beer and poured it for me leaving me confused and unsure of what to say, all I could muster was "Thanks honey". Doh! Sneaky one, that wife. She won this battle, but the war (football season) has just begun.

Oooh, I forgot about boise st and georgia. I'll be monitoring those 2 but I'm dying to see if Texas' offense has improved any, we have Boise States old offensive coordinator, should be a big change from what we ran last year.

Curse your work... You've got to get to the TV first! I've been watching the Rangers game, and my wife's sister comes over. Her sister decides she wants to watch a movie we just watched yesterday and my wife says, "well, you'll have to ask josh, he's been watching the game."

    I win! :D

The whole family is pretty cool - at least the ones I remember, it's a huge extended family. But, anyway, yeah, they're huge Packer fans. MIL and wife easily school me in the football arena. But, I grew up in LA and was never a Ram or Raider fan. My wife says that on football sundays, the priest would end mass early so everyone could get home in time for kick off.

But baseball? Definitely picked up on that. Hence the wonderful weekend! We both talk about getting season tix when we settle down, for both sports.
