You should notice the "safety factor" with them on after driving around for a few weeks - other drivers tend to yield more for you in many situations like merging in front of you, making a left turn in front of you as you go thru an intersection, lane changes, etc. I did not like them, would not have ordered them if given a choice, but they came with the truck. Now that I see the safety factor working, I like them. ;)

Do '08s come with DTRL's? Mines does not have them on, but my interior dash lights up everytime the ignition is on.

They all do that. Its only for visibility. Dash lights that is.

    DTRL is an option.

Not get rid, just have a choice if/when you want them on or off. I drive with them on most of the time, but I like to have an option to turn them off if I want to. My 2004 Camry had the switch from factory, why not my 2010 Tacoma?

That is why I will be doing this mod in the near future. I did it on my '07 when I had it and put the switch in so I could turn off/on as the situation permitted. It's hard to sneak around with those lights on all the time. :p

That's the only drawback- no sneaking around with these on! :spy:

DTRL's can go in the dumpster along with VSC. If I wanted a Volvo I would have bought one.

I think aside from the obvious, which is they are ugly as hell, I don't want things on my truck that I can't control (within reason of coourse).

VSC, DTRL, Seatbel tchime, ABS etc.....

I'm not saying any of those things are not good safety features which for the general public may be fine but for some of us they are annoying.

You yourself would like to be able to disable ABS at times true?

Keep all the safety features but allow me as the consumer to decide when and if they are appropriate.

Mine did. They were an option.
Just got my Headlamp assemblies replaced for melting DRL lenses...LOL and I hardly drive the truck. But like the modulating headlight on the bike they do noticeably help.

Ummm let's put it this way. Not a single asshole has pulled in front of me since I installed them a month ago. I think that makes a solidd point in their defense.
