I think my tailgate finally had enough.

    Will I be better off just buying a random tailgate and re painting it? Indigo is a rare color.

    Would be a good time for one, but I don't think they're dirt-mo-scooter friendly

    hauling dirt bike and unloading/loading it. + weak ass tailgate.

    see if one of our vendors can weld you up a steel baja style gate so this dont keep happening.....some square stock steel with a couple cross pieces and use the factory latches off your bent tailgate...think it would look cool

    Idk about the newer models, but the older models w/o reinforced tailgates, yes, this is what happens over time.

    White, debadged, Mudflaps removed, ICON 2.5 in front, 2.0 in rear, all 4 corners have reservoirs, Spidertrax wheel spacers all around, BAMF bolt on sliders, Avid lightbar, oem transmission cooler converted to power steering cooler, aftermarket transmission cooler eliminating all oem transmission cooler stuff, remote mounted spin on transmission fluid filter TrueTrac rear differential, rear diff housing vented and filtered into left side bed box, URD MAF calibrator, Volant intake scoop into oem airbox, second filter removed, airbox internals smoothed, blended and polished throttle body, NST intake manifold spacer, Wet Okolee set covers, WeatherTech Digital Fit mats, inexpensive JVC single DIN, Scangage, AVS Stepshield door sill protectors, Doug Thorley Long Tube Headers, URD Y pipe with O2 sims.
    Bummer about the tailgate. And to think, that is a small bike, not even a 450.

    I quickly looked at the links. Somehow, somewhere here this is a post about making a sheet steel skin and double angle lip to add some beef to an oem tailgate.

    I thought it was named the ...something gator. The guy that did the mod posted the dimension to have the metal bent to.

    I would find that topic, with a little bit of effort, that tailgate should be able to be straightened. Adding the doubler metal should give it a good bit of additional life.
