anyone with fog lights? do you use them a lot? every now and then? worth it? debating on getting some.

I love my fogs. Use them every night. Light up both sides of the road really nicely.

haha believe me, i have taken the 5 lugger off roading places (to go riding and shooting) and honestly it should not have been there. I would rather offroad my 5 lug on street tires then a dam prerunner, you get better looks. Living in a state where everyone has a 4x4 and 4x4 is actually nessisary, i dont show much love for prerunners. sorry guys, i understand that in the desert you dont really need it, but if im going off pavement i am not going to be at the mercy of just the rear wheels of a pick up. just not enough confidence.

 

in the last post i believe i made it sound like i bought the 4x4 for the desert, i worded that wrong. I meant that most of the pre runner guys live in desert/warm areas/dry states, so a 4x4 is not necessarily. I am going off roading through the woods, snowboarding 2-3 times a week, plus the 2 hour drives up into the mountains (and the occasional trip to SLC) to get to brundage and tamarack there is going to be lots of snow, and i would hitch hike before i took a prerunner.

the last time i was out shooting to get out there i was going on this single lane dirt path with some pretty steep hills and inclines while straddling about a foot deep rut most of the time, and i was sure if i slipped into it i was going to get hung up on my lcas or my leaf hangers. And with nobody else around to pull me out, it was pretty sketchy.

 

anyone use toxic shocks for the rear yet? a friend of mine is debagging his truck, want to hit him up to see if he will sell them to me (although not sure if they will work).

 

you need to drop the rear shackle first, then put it back in place, then put the front on.

oh and idk what your talking about not lowering it. that's the whole point of doing this...no matter what gen.

 

IRONY!!!! lol I had a bagged 97 xcab Dak. So I'm scratching out the use of toxics. going to find some air shocks (don't know why the hell aren't available by now ) for the rear. Hopefully if I can get the part number from the OE shocks, I guess, somehow I will be able to find something that is similar/close to what will fit ... more than half the ones I have seen already look like they will fit lol. Just unsure about the overall height of them (doubt I will ever max the shock out but would be better to have more than I need just in case).

 

he can only drop it at this point. since on the 5 lug the axle is made for the leaf pack to be placed under the axle, and not above it like with the 6 lugs. If he wants to lift it, he will need to find a flip kit for the axle (which allows you to place leaf pack on top of axle IF it was not made for it) or add in an AAL or what have you.

 

The spring is going to be under the axle with the nut holding the spring together inside in the hole on the axle plate and pin on the bottom of the spring. I cant get the shackle through the rear of the spring because of the steel sleeve.
