Yes but the post above mine specified TRD Sport/OR. But, I think you're right. Someone had installed the Tundra kit on a Tacoma.

It's Xrunner only. I know this because I tried to get it when I bought mine, and even the stupid-ass dealership didn't know it was Xrunner only.

I haven't seen that in here yet, but I imagine they are just saying that people can order them next week - which I think they were supposed to be able to do effective 9/1/2011.

    Just the basics
Now everytime I look at the new Taco I see the bulldog look. Not that it is a bad thing...afterall it is the mascot of choice for the USMC

finally can see in the high res pix,
the new headlights have the sticking out bumps though not as extreme as the 4runner, still so ugly.
everything else flows pretty good. i think people are bashing it because they are so used to seen the current design for so many years, and know only the front is changed on the 2012s. if they didn't know any of that, like a new buyer not familiar with the model or that hasn't payed attention to previous years designs, they'd probably have a totally different perspective on the new one.

btw,i have absolutely become allergic to these bump designs on headlights, you see them on the Accords, gen6 Camry, and the 4Runner omg the 4Runner, even Kawasaki has them on their bikes, must be some Japanese designer influencing his fugly taste.

It happens with every redesign (no matter how minor it is) - give it a few weeks/months and everybody will love it. :great:

They are trying too hard to give a change in appearance while working in the confines of the existing fender cutout. The "bumps" in headlights and tail lights make them more vulnerable when wheeling.

I would have to say I'm considering a PreRunner for the third generation since I live in the area I do.

I bet along with the other issues recently mentioned in this thread that they didn't touch the folding passenger seat either, from shaking because they were so busy with the front end on the 2012.

I got a really kick out of this when I went into an area that had a rough access road. I had been on the same road in the past with my 1st generation Tacoma 4X4's and they were always tight.

As long as I'm at it the 2nd generation's upper dash, upper door moldings and cloth door insert materials are a far cry from the 1st generations.

Mods - please stop combining threads... it ruins the flow of this one and doesnt actually allow any productive conversation on the subject. Just lock the repeat threads if there is no useful info/conversation in them.

They've added at least one other thread in the last couple of days...

I like that they are combining them....
