So I am in town today at a store getting decorations for our restaurant. I come outside and my passenger side front door has blue paint from the middle down to the rocker panel on it. It is about 4 inches wide and scratched through the clear coat and the rocker panel part is about a 4-6 inch round dent!! That is such bullsh*t that someone can open their door that hard to leave that big of a dent and scratches just from opening a door! So much for my first new truck being "perfect". I just cannot believe how little respect people can have for others.

I hate to hear that bud. Complete lack of respect for others and their property. It almost seems like some people get a kick out of doing things like this.

These people need to have their heads pulled out of their asses and then put in front of a :cookiemonster: :fenforcer:

Hopefully you can get it repaired for a decent price. Good luck!

    That sucks man. :(

If you were closer I would tell you to take it into my school. It's free, you just have to pay for paint.

    Yes, it's a full service garage! :p

I know the feeling of having damage like that on a brand new car. It makes you want to kill someone!

    BUILT, not bought...
there are alot of cocksuckers out there who have no respect for other peoples property.

-just becuase their life is miserable or their car looks like shit doesnt mean they have to make mine look like that.

I dont like to leave my truck parked anywhere near others, and I dont like leaving it where I cant see it for just that reason.

Get some sliders. The idiot door-dingers will be the ones with damage, you'll just break out the rattle can.

I always park facing the wind to limit the possibility any vehicle that parks next to me will have the occupants open their door and have the wind take it wide open with force.

Another problem is that some people in these vehicles have eaten themselves into submission and fling the door open to begin the immense chore of extracing themselves from their vehicle.

Exactly why I put tube steps on my truck. It was two days old and got a gold colored door opened into it. Luckily the dealer did a great job of pulling out the dent and buffing off the transfer paint (only transfer, no scratch).

Same here. I'm really not a fan of the stainless steps I have but I know for a fact they have saved me at least two dings/dents that I know of.

Thanks everyone. Man Derek I wish I lived over by you, that sounds like a sweet deal! I am going to go get an estimate today. I'm currently unemployed so it's going to be some time before I can get it fixed none the less:(. Definatly gonna have to look into the sliders!

Thats why i had the oem tube steps on within a week of purchasing my 09'. I would see those damn door dings on my 2000 BSP extra cab from a zip code away.

From past experience, i knew to get the tubes to help prevent the dings (at least from car doors) and to protect against rocks ricoceting up off of the ground and sand blasting the rear rocker panel area,
...and the AVS to protect the front of the hood (etc)...
... and the Weathertech floor liners because it drove me nuts that i had to settle for the Huskys and less coverage because they didn't make the W-techs for the 200 Tacoma. What the good is the damn mat if you trash the capet on the way to it, especially in the NE climate...

^The Husky's in mine cover the whole footwell except for the sides. Not an issue in the least. Did you get the Weathertechs with the carpet hook holes? That's exactly why I didn't buy them. No point in having all weather liners with holes in them, IMO.

That totally suks...Some people can be real idiots...I'm sure it wasn't done on purpose, but the result it the same. I absolutely hate the look of the black plastic OEM <running boards> on my truck, but I won't take them off for this very reason. It prevents careless people from wacking my doors...
