not necessarily. 17.4 is actually pretty good for that speed

I do not know where you came from as you traveled to get to SD, but it seems you were breaking the speed limit law?

My DC off-road 4X4 6 speed can't seem to crack 15.5... Lots of city driving and fireroads though. First road trip on the freeway might get it over 16. ;)

according to some you get better with 91
I have tried it and noticed very minimal gains
usually with a 6 speed the best way to get good gas mileage is by slowing down and doing 60-65.
Maybe they changed the gearing in the 2011s

octane doesn't matter with these trucks. Same mpg regardless

I was getting about 18 prior to the upsize in tires. So imo, your #s are just about right on w/ what I was getting. (mine was also a solid city/hwy mix.

Gas containing ethynol has seemed to reduce mileage, so avoid Costco and ARCO gas if you think so, too.

Highway mileage on my automatic DC Off Road 4WD is typically 17-18 mpg... with the very best ever at 19.5 mpg (on Mexican 87 octane gasolina, no eco junk in it).

and your point is???? What are you confused about?

And this is a pretty good mileage for a manual at 77MPH highway. I bet you did some lower speed driving on backroads...

Just finished my first tank in my "new" 2010 DCSB Off Road 6-Speed. Just didn't care about how I drove. Came out right at 17 even. Not that it matters. I'd just like to get to know what it will and won't do.

    Rowing gears and loving it!

I don't understand why the 6 speeds rev at 2200 rpm at 100kph, 60-65mph. Sounds like nothing has changed with the newer models. Sometimes I'm in 6th and don't realize it and try to shift higher.

Doing 77mph and 2800rpm is going to guzzle gas.

I have bigger tires and calculated my speedo is out by 10% (it was out by 3% from the factory). I'll do 90-95kph on the speedo on the highway which keeps my rpm down to about 2000 which helps the gas mileage. I'm actually doing 100-105kph.
