I tried searching for amp locations, no luck.

Sorry if this has already been asked.

If any access cab owners can post pics of amp installs, that would be great mkay? thanks peter.:D

I cannot see where 2 amps will fit cleanly and properly.

    Thanks

btw, just picked up my 06 access cab prerunner:cool:

I'm also curious to know if there's any good spots for an amp and sub in Double Cabs. I have an amp and sub left over, and wonder if it's going to be possible to use in my Tacoma. I don't get my truck till next week, so I can't really do any looking yet.

Yes there is a good place for amps and subs in the double cab... :D

You won't fit anything bigger than a 10" shallow mount without some fairly major modifications, but this is my setup with two 10"s and two amps.

Talk to Mr Marv about mounting options/locations for both access and double cabs. He does EXTREMELY good work!

    Sweet, thanks Longhorn.

Not sure if I'll re-use my one sub and amp.....but it's nice to see there's room for a setup.

So now that I've somewhat hijacked this thread. Are you guys installing this stuff by yourselves? In my previous vehicle (Dodge Magnum), I did install aftermarket speakers in place of the factory ones. And had a stereo shop install an amp and sub. Speakers were pretty easy, but I have no clue the process involved in wiring in an amp to the factory system. And one thing to mention, I wasn't thrilled about taking apart interior panels and such in my Magnum when I installed the speakers. They certainly weren't design to be taken apart by common-folk. And I had to wait several weeks at one point for the dealership to get new connectors so my door panels could be properly put back on. So I'm a not sure how much dismantling I want to do on my own. So is it best to take it to the pros?

    Check the stickys for instructions.

The connectors are generally accessible from Autozone, NAPA, etc., so waiting on the dealer shouldn't be necessary. It's a generic part.

If you don't like the process for doing speakers, you won't like doing amps. Amps take a bit more to do, and make you disassemble much more.

and because I don't want to see anyone hurt, I'll play this boring record again:

Toyota advises that, on 2009 Tacomas/ Tacomas with side impact curtains, no objects should be installed under the drivers seat. It may harm the airbag deployment system. Professional installers have been advised against mounting anything there.

+1. I don't even think you could fit anything under the seat if you have those airbags.

Box looks like it is from subXclosures

And because I can't help but be a smartass right now,

Do you think he'd post if he was embarassed? ;)

My68urtrd, the guy who makes them, looks like he spends some quality time. The upholstry flat out kicks the snot out of JL stealth box in the looks department.

Yeah, I have a Memphis MCA-3004 and a MCD1000, but they are going in a doublecab. It's going to be tight enough getting those in.
