Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Depends on how busy I am and how soon it needs it. Voted sometimes myself, sometimes shop.

I take it in and get it done, only bc they do alot of other thing, like clean windows, vac. interior, check all fluids and belts. If I were to do it, I wouldn't do any of that! :)

I do it myself. I don't like or trust anyone touching my truck.

I really enjoy maintaining my own vehicles and have for years. With the weather as crappy as it has been lately however, crawling under the truck in the slush and ice is something I'm not keen on doing. The dealership is on my way to work,I drop it off,get picked up by a co-worker and it's done when I get off.Another issue is the used oil concern.

Changing the oil in the 4.0L V6 is so easy I believe my wife could even do it who has no mechanical ability. An oil filter on top of the engine and an unobstructed drain plug, how much easier could it get?

I've always maintained my own vehicles. My dealer offers "free oil changes for life" as part of their sales but I had them deduct that from the purchase price. This was just their way of getting me in so they can ding me for every little thing that comes up, ie: belts, filters, etc. I can do 90% of anything they find for much less. A friend who also bought from the same dealer uses the "free oil changes". In their last visit they had to wait 2 1/2 hours for the oil change and were billed over $100 for incidentals...enough said!

Warranty issues are the only things I take to the dealer.

I do it myself, I use a K&N filter and the oil I want. I had a bad experience with a dealer. I had the TSB done and they left 3 lug nuts on each side on the front wheels hand tight. Its a safety thing, nothing against lube shops or dealers, I just trust myself more than anyone else, plus its a reason to have a twelve pack with a few of my troops, or is it a few twelve packs with one of my troops, anyway I think I do it myself.

I change it myself. For one thing, It takes less time for me to do it than it would to take it some place. And, While Im under the truck, it gives me the oppertunity to check things out and make sure there is nothing out of the ordinary.

    stock, for now
ill do it myself in the driveway..I dont mind doing it, unless its super cold out, then i can just take it to work and do it myself using my oil and filter. for under $30 i have mobil 1 oil and a mobil 1 filter on my truck. Plus i get under there and grease everything, adjust the air pressure and always checking for the 1st gen frame rust.

Usually ill set an afternoon to do my stuff, so im not rushing and dont forget anything. Plus ill usually wash the truck if its nice, and sometimes throw a coat of wax on it after it dries. I can take the old oil and filter to work and dispose of it there..Hell im there anyways! The only thing i cant do in my driveway is a coolant exchange. We have a machine at work that I can use to do it. For say $65 and I have brand new coolant in it(althou i havent done it, and it needs it)

I do my own, and i have the Fumoto valve installed, so its really quick and easy. I like being able to see what the oil looks like when its comes out, and i like cutting my filters and checking em, just my pref, i spent alot on the truck, and don't want some idiot kid missing something.

Do it all myself, I haven't ever taken my car to a lube shop. When I was in college and didn't have a parking spot and a way to store the old oil, I'd drive 1 hour to get home to change my oil. I still live in an apartment but I do my oil changes and maintenance at work on the weekends. It's nice to have a big shop to work in and a boss that doesn't mind!

I always change my own, it's good to look around under the truck.

Used oil is not a problem, I live very close to a city recycling place. it's free to drop off anything that would be a hazard to the enviroment.

I don't know if you guys have "Jiffy Lube" in the states, In ontario they take your used oil, filters and antifreeze at no charge.
