I bought an engine for my 02 tacoma but came without the dipstick. My had the dip stick in the front down to the oil pump. The one i bought has it on the side with the hole on the block. What year and model can this be from? I trying to find the dip stick for this but i keep on getting the wrong one.

thats the problem, I think it was a 02 but im not sure. I bought this already out of the truck and the seller did not have the correct info. I just need to know which model has the dipstick on the drivers side not in the front.

Do you still have you're old motor? The dipstick is only held in by a rubber grommet. Just pull the dipstick out and pull on the dipstick housing and it pops right out.

If you have the 3.4 v6, I think I still have the dipstick in a box of shit at home, but I'd have to check. You can have it for free, just pay shipping. I threw some stuff out so I need to doublecheck though for sure.

All the 5vz's have the same dipstick so it doesn't matter.
Either way, I checked my boxes and I don't have it. I must have tossed the dipstick and dipstick tube when I dumped the block. Sorry man.

You need to figure out what engine you have first. take some pictures if you can.

If it says "3400 FourCam" on the front belt cover it is the 5vz Tacoma/4runner engine. Then just get a part number from toyota and start web searching.
