What is this.....

What is the silver/grey looking skid plate on the front underside of this tacoma? I see it on some taco's but not others, and my TRD OR does not have this. I do have a front skid plate that is black and has some rust on it that I had to remove to change the alternator. Sorry for stealing someone's pic, but I figured it wouldn't be a big deal, since I'm not claiming it as my own.

 

Thats a factory skid plate. I've got one on my sport. Not sure which package it's included on, dont think its a TRD specific option.

 

It's a factory add-on. I don't think it comes automatically on any of the packages.

go to Toyota.com, under Tacoma, then accessories and you'll see it listed.

Thats the toyota skid plate, a lame excuse of a skid at that. The black one you have is not a skid plate but a splash pan. None of the tacoma's come stock with front skids only the splash pan.

TRD add-on...not stock TRD...they are alright, but they still dent fairly easily
