So i just sat through 3 hours of traffic for a 20 minute trip over here in virginia, everywhere i flooding blah blah..anyways..The end of the trip we came upon a part of the road that was flooded. Ive driven through some deep water before, safely of course, and at this part the water was barely covering the curb so i figured id be able to make it. Keep in mind i have the OME 3" lift with 285s so ive got a bit of clearance. Anyways, i turned on 4hi and started to go through. I made it but towards the end of the stretch my a/c light started flashing and something smelled like it was burning.

Not sure if the smell was my car, or the flares on the road warning of the flood :)rolleyes:). I turned the a/c off and back on and the flashing stopped. From that point on though i was worried and the truck felt a little sluggish, but that might just be my imagination.

The truck still ran for another 30 minutes at least and i havent tried starting it yet, but im sure it will start.

Any ideas on what could have caused this? Is this an issue i need to call the dealer about just to make sure?

    Thanks fellas.

Possibly, i never stopped to avoid water getting sucked into the exhaust, but it might have been the water touching it.

Thanks, from what i read this was a one of the main reasons for the flashing. Do you think it was just a slip and should be fine from now on? The truck starts and im almost postive the a/c works normally.

Where did you encounter the water? I live not too far away and the only water i came across was on 395.

If the light only came on when you turned the a/c on then its most likely the ac belt slipping.

    hope this helps.
