5100 Bilstein adjustable shocks

I am looking to level out my truck as much as possible with the rear tsb that i had done on my tacoma. I have a couple of questions on the 5100 bilstein adjustables.
1. Is that all that needs to be replaced is the shocks and thats all it takes to level out the truck? ( that is my understanding)
2. how much on labor am i looking at for just the front?
3. With the tsb installed do i need to change the rear shocks also?

Any information to clarify this is greatly appreciated!!!!

 

no need to change the rear shocks.........................have the billies set at 1.75.......should sit nicely, and if you can take the complete coil assy off the truck yourself........and take them to a shop to swap in the shocks for you instead of doing the whole thing..............you can save some $$$ and maybe pay around $40 or 50 for that. the dealership wanted to charge me $300 for installing the front 5100's!!! no way was i doing that! did them myself for alot less.

 

If you have the cash do the backs too. I found a shop to do the install and alignment for $189.00 for the fronts only, the backs are easy. Go to Down South Motorsports for your shocks, they are great. Set at 1.75 is perfect.

 

Thanks, I wish i could do it myself. I am minimally mechanicaly inclined. I can do some stuff but i have never done anything this thorough. Would the tallest setting be too tall?

 

damn......good price for the install and alignment too!!!! dealer's are ridiculous!

 

yeah....the tallest setting will make it nose high a bit when the rear settles,and i have heard the ride is really rough on 2.5........................but thats just what i have heard about the rough ride.

 

I will be ordering them tomorrow. Ill start looking for a shop to have them installed. Yea I was looking at ordering them from there. Ive read the good stuff about them from the other threads. I Love this sight. You guys are very informed and Helpful!!!!!

Hurry and buy them cause they are going up in price.

 

I would go with the 1.75 setting. If its too low you can deal with it for a while. if you go to high you have to pay the same install price to get it where you want it. You wont be disappointed at 1.75 but if you are i will buy you a cheeseburger!
