:eek:I have a 2000 4 Cylinder with a Thrush glass pack that has been worn out to be pretty loud actually, also I have a 4inch tip.

My ?? is if I cut out my cadalitic converter ( however you spell it) and run straight pipe from my headers to the glass pack will it sound louder and if so will it be loud enough that I should do it?

I have :cool:NO emission laws:cool: in the honky:rolleyes:Mississippi so its cool to do. If you know any other way to make it louder please input!

yup and they really do add extra horsepower. the ones that are manufactured for the 05+ engine crank out about 12 extra horses. and 12 extra torque. so IMO its worth it.

Regardless if your state has emission inspections or not, it is against the law to remove emission equipment (catalytic converters) from your vehicle. If ever caught, you will be paying STEEP fines. Just sayin.........................

    This is a Federal Law..

if you get yealry inspection they might ask where it went...

So us all a favor keep it on. if you run straight pipe you will loose back presure and if you remove the cat you ECU will through a code...

this will make the car run worse...

To add, more importantly, your looseing scavenging, and more than likely looseing power.

its gonna sound like shit. headers back on a 4cyl... come on now. Take your cat out, you're gonna throw a code and you're gonna loose bottom end power. The headers wont gain enought HP to make up for the loss. You NEED backpressure, unless you're going boosted.....

none except for crappy hub caps and floor mats.
You might want to see if removing it would screw up your computer since its connected to it and adjusts the airflow accordingly.

    Hmmm,
In Mississippi there are no emissions inspections, too bad.
