I replaced mine around 60K. I used the autozone "gold" pads. already squealing after only 10K miles on them. Got to find some better quality ones.

My master cylinder went out about a month ago. 72K on the truck with 3/4 pads left on rears and just under 1/2 on the fronts, rotors in good shape.

Mine started squeeling at 75k±. I replaced them with ceramic pads. They are supposed to have a lifetime warranty - I don't know how that can work - it does not make sense to me; if the pads will last forever, it means someting else will have to wear, which will be the rotors.
Anyway, I love them. They grab really good when I step on the brake, and the best part is that they don't create brake dusk like regular pads, so no more wheel cleaning all the time.

I'm pretty sure the brake pads on my 2002 4Runner were the original pads when I replaced them a couple days ago. 127,000 miles. I would have replaced them sooner had I known they were so old...
