Free dealership oil change huh? Hey, at least they put oil back in.

 

I think the 2011 Accords are requiring a 0-20 oil while still using the same 2.4L engines they've stuck in everything that is not a civic or a V6.

I know nothing if the 2011 Tacomas are only saying 0-20, but I wouldn't be surprised.

It's all about fuel economy.

Nothing will happen, and if it does, just bring in the receipt and tell them to call you when it's fixed.

On a side note, they come with Mobil 1 5W-30 conventional in them...so I don't see any reason to change that. I'll be running the same in mine, and changing it every 3-4,000mi.

I only run 5w-30 synthetic in mine. The manual and oil cap says 5w-30 and I personally wouldn't trust the word of anyone at the stealership over the manual. They also said that it comes from the factory filled with semi-synthetic...but they probably didn't know what they were talking about as usual.

I changed mine every 5 to 6k full synthetic. But now I live in Kodiak Ak and change it before and after winter due to low miles driving. Is this a BAD Idea???

 

I use dealer changed dino...I don't plan on keeping the truck past 75K miles.

 

5w-30 and 5w-20 are the same thickness of oil but at temperature 5w-20 is a bit thinner than 5w-30 but not enough to cause harm

so at cold temps the oil flows as 5W oil and operating temp the oil flows the same as the higher number does at 210F

its alot of babble of viscosity laws with oil

I love this 0-20 shit, help gas mileage blah blah blah, then pay out the ass for an oil change. 0-20 is a synthetic oil only I believe.

For what its worth ow30 is the best choice of oil. A ow30 oil is still too thick to properly lubricate at a cold startup 5w30 and 10w30 are even worse off the high temperature protection of the 0w30 is the same or better then 10w30 and the ow30 is the best choice for a startup protection it is the best choice current oil technology offers. Yes ow30 is still too thick to lubricate at start up 10w30 is even worse off. So get the startup protection and high temp benefits of a 0w30 synthetic!!!

 

I put redline 2 stroke oil, fluorescent Krylon spray paint, oven cleaner, gloss clear Krylon, Simple Green and some Goo Off in one of my Honda XR50s crankcase...it still runs till this day. I've never changed it out.

I have three XR50's and tons of extra parts laying around.
If the motor grenades, I wouldn't care. There dime a dozen..get them $100 all day on Planetminis.
