Do the motor mounts go bad on the Tacoma?

My corolla mounts needed replacement after about 100k miles and would vibrate the car pretty bad. I searched here and don't see much about having to replace them. Do they soften up ever?

Tacoma- 2006
Corolla- 1997

 

The 2005s had a problem with the motor mounts.

 

Nothing can last forever ya know. Its eventually going to need everything. lol

 

Yeah but my corolla mount replacements are part of routine maintenance for most (or all) owners. Just wondering if it is here too.

 

unless you beat on the truck regularly, you shouldnt need to replace them prematurely.

 

It is not part of the routine maintainence for tacomas.

 

That's what I was hoping. The rear Corolla mount was the hardest job that I did on that vehicle. Total PITA

 

Motor mounts should last 100k+ miles, unless you have one of the problem years.

There seems to be two seperate issues.

The fourth gen 4runners (03-09), 05-06 Tacomas, and possibly early 07s, also the first several years of FJ Cruisers all have an inherently weak frame mount design. There have been failures on all of these when used hard off road.

In addition, the early 05s had a welding problem that has caused failures under normal street driving conditions. I believe we are talking about build dates in late 04 and early 05. My truck is 12/05 and appears to be okay. It has not been off roaded hard. I will not worry about mine unless I take up high speed off roading, which is not likely to happen.
