Here (attached) is a photo of a stock Double Cab for comparison ...

Just compare the distances between the back wall of the cab and the forward edge of the rear wheel well ...

    OK (and thanks for asking ... :D ) ...

Here (attached) are a couple of nice shots the DC S-Runner's creator (Glen Magrino) had made after finishing the final paint in November 2007.

It's still probably an auto though.

I'd much rather have a DC SB 5MT than a DC LB AT.

None here in Canada either! The frame must be longer than a regular double cab short for sure. Looks very odd? You should have waited for the owner and asked him or her about it...good find though!

If it was a project truck I think it would have more mods on it. Maybe they got in an accident and they could only find a regular cab bed for replacement.

I doubt it ... Unless they went to a *lot* of trouble on transplanting body parts, that's a Tacoma and not a Hilux.

that would be a lot of work just for a longer bed... you would have to move the whole rear axle back, which would mean you would have to relo9cate the springs et all... do do that and not even improve its stance with better springs or anything just sounds rediculous.. it had to be an import from Canada or mexico

Actually, Its not that hard at all. You cut the frame at the cross member before the rear springs. Lengthen, re weld and plate. Then, longer DS, wireing, and brake lines and you good. There are a few companies that will perforem this kind of mod. My Dad had it done to his Dodge Mega Cab, as he wanted the long bed, and the Mega Cab only comes in a short bed.

Does anyone in your family not cut stuff up and weld them back together in a different manner?
