I think my gas pedal got stuck today

Well about 30 mins ago i got in my truck to leave work. It poured very hard for about 30mins about 1.5hrs before i left work. Well i got it started and didnt pull off for about 45secs or so and i did hit the gas a little harder. The tires skretched and it tooooooook off. i got about 15ft and tried to swurve away from a fence and went up a curb on the right and torn up that grass then spun out 90* to the left and tore thru some baby bushes(right between some smaller trees) and i got it stopped about 5 ft from the side of a brick building(my work). it happened so fast idk know how it happened. I was in shock and afraid to get out and see if there was damage to the Taco. Thankfully there was none but grass and stuff all over the tires. WTF happened?

 

Do you have floor mats?

 

I have rubber mats.

 

No i dont think so. but a lot of times floor mats or rugs get in the way and can press the gas pedel

 

The rubber mats could have somehow gotten over the gas pedal. if that makes sense

 

call the media, call the newspapers, SUE,SUE, SUE!!!

 

Bet you were accidentally pushing on both pedals at first. When you pushed harder the brake probably slipped out from under your foot giving you balls to the wall gas.

I've done it before by accident. It happens.

Im about 90% sure it wasnt my mats. But it could have been bad foot placement on me. Idk it happened so quick im not sure. either way i about shat my pants. i did get my truck serviced at Hoover Toyota yesterday morning?

Young driver + too much throttle on wet pavement = Danger.

 

honestly, wearing certain type of boots/shoes (usually flight boots for work) i tend to hit both pedals at the same time. needless to say, i take the time to remove my right boot while driving. this truck must have been designed for the japanese because you HAVE to have really narrow feet lol

when you park do you use the e-brake? I know mine sometimes in cold temperature or if they are wet they kind of freeze and when you disengage it you either have to give it a bit more gas, or rock the truck back a forth for them to come loose.. its the only thing that comes to mind...
