I personally shy away from most supplements...I believe anything that can be accomplished with supplements can be accomplished with enough personal drive and a good diet. That being said...I don't know which supplements would help, in this case

But in all of honesty, I used to keep track of complex carbs and good sources of protein, but now that I'm in college its way harder to do.

    Being a poor student sucks!
Used to stack kre-alkalyn with jack3d and protein
now I'm lucky if I score a pre-mixed shake every so often. :pout:

I don't maintain a special diet but I try to watch what I eat. Little to no white bread; no sodas; no sweets (I still use sugar in my coffee). Kashi Go-Lean cereals in the AM. Lots of fruits, non-fat yogurt; skim or 1% milk. Lean Cusines for lunch. Dinner is pretty normal- I try to take in as much grilled chicken breast as possible. Cheese pizza about once a week (2 slices). A cheeseburger on rare occasions. I snack on Cliff Bars, 2-3 per day...

Grip load of sugars from the fruit, cereal, milk, etc. Where are the complex carbs? Fats? Lack of protein

I drink muscle milk (25g/protein) 2 times on work out days and once during off days- what do you suggest? I've been trying to keep fat intake down; are you referring to a different type?

If you eat fruit, eat it with protein...makes the spike less noticeable. Nothing wrong with eating fruit at all. Eat some whole wheat bagels, bread, some rice, potatoes maybe and other such things. Oats are good for breakfast too.

You don't have to eat like a fitness model or something like that to be healthy. Just watch the portions, shop on the outside aisles of the store, eat lots of lean meats (chicken, tuna, lean steak etc) and go for a protein a little less processed. Optimum Nutrition has great products, even for lactose intolerant people!

Muscle Milk is loaded with a bunch of crap man. I'd switch to a cleaner protein such as ISO100. As far as cutting fat- diet/cardio. Carb cycle through out the week. 3 days low 1 high (50g or so of complex carbs on high days)

Good call Aaron. My mind is stuck on bodybuilding/fitness lol. OP- are u just looking to tone up? Try carb cying a little bit as I suggested and omit cheat meals for a few weeks if u can just to drop the extra fat u want off. And, as Aaron Mentioned eat protein with ur carbs as it will slow the carb absorption rate down and make clean food choices! Tuna, tilapia, salmon, sweet potato, brown rice, oats, eggs, turkey, chicken, clean shakes, cottage cheese. I've never been a big fan of bread products as bread contains yeast an in turn, ur liver is unsure how to process it so, it converts to fat.

I would consider myself an amateur bodybuilder, right now im trying to gain weight since beach season has kinda ended. Currently taking optimum whey in the morning on waking up, animal pak with breakfast, some animal m-stak and 1mr before workouts, Universal torent post workout, animal pm and optimum casein before bed. And am eating a ton of tuna and chicken. I try to have a meal every 3 hours
