you have to cup the balls.

meh, maybe if entune did porn or if there was a (o)(o) chanel or something. otherwise, upgrade to an aftermarket and get a better product for less. to hell with that monthly fee noise too.

Entune is going to be badass. First of all your not going to get an aftermarket unit that can do what entune can for cheaper. Show me the unit that will talk to text, search the net, gps, radio, ipod interface, bluetooth, ect. for cheaper. that has the kind of warrenty and ease of use that entune has.

Is the Entune setup worth $2K......of course not........How often do you actually buy something at a price that it's actually worth? These are all "wants" including the truck itself. Snow and other conditions permitting, we could all get by driving something a lot cheaper. That being said, I WANT IT!! It's about time they come out with this option........I mean it's no worse than the other packages (sport and OR)......nearly $4K more for offroading options that rarely get used. For instance, A-TRAC is only used/engaged when in 4Low. Unless you're an enthusiast (and for those that are that's fine) then you will never need it and if you ever do use it then its just because you have it.......but don't need it. Even worse is the Sport package.........over $3K for color matching and a hood scoop. But again, I love the sport package.....lol.

The point is that "worth" is all relative to how much you "want" it.

My question is why aren't the Tacomas getting the HDD version of the Entune setup like the other vehicles that debut the new system? I would upgrade to the high def screen and DVD capability in a heart beat.

Ranting aside, when it's all said and done I will have a 2012 with Entune.

I don't plan on buying another Tacoma, but if I was I would pass on the Entune BS.

    Entune...the pressroom site says:

Entune includes Bing™ and Pandora®; real-time info including traffic, weather, fuel prices, sports and stocks. Apps available in spring 2012 at no charge include iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com and OpenTable®.

This makes me think that Bing, Pandora, real time traffic, weather, fuel prices, sports and stocks are what you will be paying for (The Toyota Entune system is a collection of popular mobile applications and data services, with three years of complimentary access). I have a garmin GPS that offered similar functions for an annual fee that I had a free 1 year subscription for. When it ran out I never noticed a difference and still use it all the time for the other features.

So some of the crap won't work but most should still be working without a fee, just the added extras you would be paying for from a different GPS and this one is factory installed. Also the POI's are anticipated to only get larger if you have seen the youtube cnet videos. The system works directly with your phone and many of the options could probably be updated with your phone.

If you don't like dash mounted GPS thats your progative, but if yu do, I think this is a good deal for what is offered and a step up in technology accesories.

I agree with vbprsx, it's only worth what you rewilling to pay. LT1, I expect a full review, and whippersnapper I expect you to talk a bunch of crap about it forever even if it crapped out golden eggs and gave you future stock prices and lotto numbers.

One more thing...I'm going to get it.

from what i have seen, you can buy a near top of the line kenwood touch screen head unit for the same price...with built in garmin nav. i would rather do that

Have you guys seen the standard radio on 2012's? It looks pretty sweet:

I would MUCH rather have that (Plus the aux inputs it comes with so I can use my own phone and choose the apps I want to run) than some subscription-based thing toyota shoves in our faces. Especially since it has bing on it - Microsoft pays out the ass to get their new catch-up software onto the market, and I'm not going to fall for the stupid marketing. If it had Google apps i'd consider it, because I know they work. Entune would still be a hard sell for me.

I love the 2012 interior but the Entune just seems like a stupid money-generating gimmick to me. If they made it standard I would not buy a 2012. With the standard radio... I'll probably buy by the end of the year!

Complete waste. My droid 3 with the dock does all this and way more... with voice search powered by google (so 8 billion times better than bing). All I have to do is drop it and switch the audio to cd2 and it's wired for pandora/slacker/netflix/whatever the hell I want. Waste of moneeyyyyy!

Seems useable in the city I guess? I still voted "Not likely" I have absolutely no use for it on my ranch.

I wouldn't pay that much for it, but it looks really cool. I have really been wanting one myself ever since I saw Ford's sync system. I don't know how much I would spend though, but definitely not over $1000. I like that it has voice activated features, do any of the after market ones have that? (definitely voice recognition navigation).

They just know it's easier to squeeze more money out of you at the dealership because you are most likely financing it, and only spending $35 a month doesn't seem that bad at the time. I would save the money and wait until these after market companies come out with even sweeter/cheaper units, and buy myself a Christmas present haha.

I would like ot have it and the price point seems fair. I prefer a factory-looking dash and aftermarket does not appeal to me, regardless of extra features.
