am i the only person whose tacoma windows fog ridiculously bad??? is ther anything i can do about it? btw i have a 99 ext cab 4x4

 

LOL yeah actually. My 2010 fogs way worse than my 86 ever did.

I set thedial to defrost, put the heat at 2/3rds turn, turn interior circulate off, close both passenger vents (because they still blow on defrost) and set the fan speed to off. Seems to blow just enough heat to defrost the window on muggy nights and not kill me.

 

Can't believe I'll admit to this. I had the same thing happen after I had it at the shop once. They must have hit the air recirculation button/leaver (as I never do) and it was ridiculous how foggy it was. After a week or so of defrost on, windows down...etc.. I moved the recirc leaver back...problem fixed.

 

Off topic but my 04 ext. Cab will burn me up if i use defrost when its cold the turn it down to 1 or two its still super hot even when i adjust the temp its still hot almost a dry heat.

 

Sounds like a coolant problem, you're just pulling heat from the engine bay

Recirculation button - OFF

 

I have heard that turning the AC on with the defrost helps with the fog because it removes the moisture from the cab. Is there any truth to this? Turning the heat and ac on sounds stupid. I have not tried this because it seems wrong. I just turn recirculate off and defrost on.

 

actually ive read in alot of places that tacomas come from factory when defrost is on AC is on also even if the button isnt pushed

there are a bunch of people who modify the tacoma to turn off this function as it uses engine ac for no apparent reason

but on another note my 1990 22-re pickup had the worse case of fog in my life hated i alternated between windows down up circ off on defrost on close vents omfg it was a hassle

and i havnt had my 2k tacoma enough to see how bad defrost if but i believe its just a toyota thing haha
