    FYI to all interested.

I visited my local dearlership to get the TSB (T-SB-0305-08)installed on my Taco. I had a case number and a hardcopy of the TSB in hand.
Sadly, I waited too long. They pulled up a revision dated January 12, 2009. I haven't seen it on TW.
Rev. 1 stated that it now only applies to 4WD vehicles.
I guess, during hard economic times Toyota is looking for all ways to cut costs.
Bummer! I was really looking forward to having it done.:(

No, they didn't. But I'll try to get one.
I've tried to find the complete TSB on the web, but haven't as off yet.
    I'll keep trying.

    A few bolts are different.
argue the fact that your prerunner has 4x4 suspension components

Has any one priced out what the left pack costs? I find this to be a serious problem and if need be, I will pay for the upgrade myself.

I fail to see why the issue sohould be based on whether or not it is 4x4. The rear suspension, I believe, is identical and this is an issue of payload, not drivetrain. You should call corporate and argue your case. The payload listed for the stock suspension is false advertising.

Last time I looked it was cost-prohibitive to buy the Toyota parts outright.
Someone posted the prices in the other suspension-TSB thread.
I would go for the the Dakar springs from OME (and probably the front setup from OME to do it right.)
You would have a better product at a lower price.

If Toyota doesn't do my 09, I'll do the above.

I used Toyota of Greer. They said that since the TSB Revision was specific about it being for 4WD vehicles, their hands were tied.

That's just retarded, the prerunner has 4wd suspension, just not the transfer case & front drive axles. Have them look at the inside of the front spindles & ask what that pressed in metal plug is that fills the area where the drive shaft would go through. Ask them to look at part numbers from prerunner & 4wd & hmmm, if the same how can they justify that shit? Mine has 48k when purchased so I'm basically fucked on that....

I had my prerunner done on Jan 28th and the parts were ordered on the 23rd with no issues at all. I think your dealer is not reading the TSB correctly. I did not have to argue for it or anything.

I just took mine in to the dealer two days ago and he already got approval to do it to mine. Parts are on order and they should be in by the end of the week they said... Try talking to another dealer.

Wow I am back at work tomorrow I will look for a revision to T-SB-0305-08 but I check daily for new info and keep an eye for stuff related to the Tacoma if there is something new I will post it as soon has I have it. CJZ4 I think they are pulling your chain and just don't want to do it for you try another dealer.

If I had not seen the TSB myself, I would've thought the same thing. I don't trust them anymore than I trust an elected official!
But alas, I saw it. I had pulled a copy of the TSB from TW and had it with me. But, his copy had a Rev.1 which mine didn't have.
I don't know whether this vehicle will safely carry it's stated payload or not. But, given my close proximity to 36 months, I may be toast unless this falls under the 60K drivetrain warranty.

I just dropped off my truck last night at the Dublin Toy dealership along with a copy of the TSB. They are supposed to call me today and let me know if they will be able to cover this.

So does the January 12th revision include 2009 models or are they still waiting for the 2010 models to come out before they do that?

Look above your last post. Your dealer is obviously "twisting" the wording on Rev. 1 to avoid doing the TSB. It is clear in the parenthesis that the PreRunner IS covered. Call corporate and make a complaint. Provide names of folks at the service department and I bet they all you to have you bring it in and have it done.
