I am about to attempt this mod. I have a question regarding bending the male end on the relay. "I know which end to bend out, my question to you is what is the best way to bend this male end w/out damaging it or the relay? " (needle nose pliers?)

That would work, I just grabbed it and bent it out with my hands.

Does anyone here know of a bed light that can be adapted to the 05-08 tacoma? Like a new unit that replaces the brake light and would include a clear LED to see what the hell is in my bed at night? Can't believe this was an oversight from Toyota... I would like a nice clean switch on my dash for it. I see these lamps which are cool, but want a clean look, like stock. Ideally there is an aftermarket piece that fits right in the stock brake lamp spot.

Nope. None that I know of. One company talked about making one, but never did. It wouldn't be plug n play anyway. You'd have to run wires for the bed light portion above the headliner to the dome light, the reverse lights, or a switch on the dash. Too much work for a mass marketed product I think. That's why I ended up going with my LED tubes. People with bed caps have lights, but they're a separate system. On with back window open, or a switch on the light itself I think with power coming from the trailer harness. Or somewhere else around the rear tail lights.

How annoying is it to have a sliding rear window and no electric control from the front seat? Anyone know anything about a linear actuator for the rear sliding window? That is the one big thing that I don't understand how they didn't give as an option.

Google it! I know I saw one somewhere... I can't remember if it needed a whole new window, or if it was just an add-on. Something similar to a power antenna motor/cable system. And I don't remember who had it or who made it.

Yeah, 400 bones does not seem to fit this thread title. I did do some searching and found some 4" throw linear actuators for about $75. I figure this and a switch and some "engineering" and I can do it myself for around $130.

Probably bringing up old news as most of you have probably already done this, but I ran out of things to do, so I went ahead and did this. Boy am I glad I did. I'm tickled to death as I can now see through the extra dark tinted rear window!

This is a comparison, no flash, tripod shot on an slightly overcast day with indirect sunlight. The one I replaced first is obvious.

This is a tripod picture, no flash, overcast night and I turned the yard light off. I used 3 different shutter delays and this one appeared to be the most accurate portrayal according to my scientific eye.
