Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Make sure the ODO is on ODO

    Press and hold trip button.
Turn IGN to ON (Do not start)
Trip meter should should display 0000's or dashes (I forget which)
When it is done let go of button, turn off IGN

This should also be in the manual and there are other threads with more specific instructions.

I believe it counts down the 0's to dashes or vise versa

Speaking of not reading the owner's manual...I just ASSumed changing the oil was the only action to turn it off. You know what happens when you...

Now I can say I learned something today. :D

There's no way the truck can know you changed the oil, unless you tell it nicely. :p

I just reset it yesterday, if you have a 08+ model you need to what 98tacoma27 said but put it on trip a and the key on on and press the trip button the second you move the key from on to off from there you well see a series of tac marks counting down, once their done their will be several zeros. Once you see this your done

I have an 08 and used the ODO (not the trip) and it worked fine; also, this is what my OM stated to do.

You're doing the exact same thing the manual tells you to do, you just happen to do it while driving, and there's no reason to do so.

I guess I messed it up and its 11's that need trip A and not 08's, I thought 08's needed it too for whatever reason
