I have been wanting to paint my skid plate for a while and I saw someone else paint red TRD letters in their skid plate. Would it look good to paint the Toyota Trucks logo in silver in the middle of the skid plate and black surrounding, or just go with all black. It would probably be hard to see so should I even bother.

    I painted mine red. :D
I don't see why you'd put the toyota logo on it when you already have one on the grill.

When I get home from AU, I'm going to build my own skids...will probably either powdercoat black or paint red/green/orange (one of those). Or both.

I think the toyota trucks logo would work though. How about black with a red trucks logo?

The skid plate is the ideal panel to play with if you want to practice or try some new paint technique, or just want to play. I would say paint it black with the logo, and spray clearcoat over that to give it a little extra layer of protection - it won't help much for rocks of course, but it will help against the little chips and grass rubs etc. I would even use metallic paint just to make it extra special - always good to feel good about a job done right, even if it is just a skid plate.

Paint it black... forget the logo. Duplicolor spray truck bed coating is very durable, keeps it's color, and will last a long time.

i painted mine semi-gloss black. keep it subtle. now if it was a laser cut-out then go for it imo.

i think black, somewhat glossy or w/clearcoat. no logo, we all know your driving a toyota, but just in case we didnt theres already a logo up front. unless you debadged the front like if u got a grillcraft or satoshi, then t might make sense to run a logo, but small, not huge. IMO. of course. either way itll look good with a fresh ass skid plate.
