    Looks like el-wire to me so yea should be able to cut it and splice back together.

    For the OP deff do the cluster LED, its a cheap mod and looks a whole helluva lot better than stock, ive been through white, red, and currently blue and must say the blue is my favorite but its a super simple mod to do in no time at all!

    Sweet!!!! Does any one know how I would write something like that up?? Could I use a fuse tap or whatever its called and wire it into the fuse for the switch?

    It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
    That tubing shit on 2nd page wouldn't work.
    Those needles are precise and weigh NOTHING. Your needles wouldn't even move with that stuff strapped to it.

    Plus that neon tubing shit is ALOT bigger then your needles.


    Use a 6SMD 360 LED and your needles will be lit up. You might get hotspots though.

    Thats exactly what I was afraid of it being too heavy. And yes I got to looking and the tubing is way bigger than the needles are.

    Once I finish all the currently pending mods I will update this section.
    WOAH man! that looks really good. The one thing I'm still hesitant about is the cluster for the middle area, where all the ac knobs and stuff are. Also the gear numbers and all. But Very nice job on yours. im jealous.:)

    thanks man, the AC panlel can be a PITA to put the new LEDs in, i did another trucks with no problems but when i got to the one for the speed of the blower motor on mine the circuit board broke so just be carefull and take your time...but it looks a whole helluva lot better!

    In the 2001's with the white face and orange color isn't the orange color in the cluster itself? Example its a orange film then the white face color and if you change the ligts to leds it'll just be a brighter orange or am I wrong?

    actually the lights behind the ac panel are just a basic halogen with an orange condom thing on em, presumably the ones behind the dash are the same

    I pulled the ac panel face off and shined a led flashlight threw it and it still shined threw orange so I'm thinking the ones in the dash are made of a see threw orange plastic type stuff with white facing on it I mean I have no idea really I think ill just stick with the orange and just change the oil or something ha

    well actually there are a few ways to get rid of the orange that is on the back of the AC panle, one is fingernail polish remover on a Qtip just be carefull and take your time or you can do it with a small flat tip screwdriver like a pocket sized one which is what i did and it worked perfectly fine for me, and when i did the AC with the new blue LED's they actually shine through blue through the orange, ill try to snag a pic tonight if i remember!
