    Well I got almost 90% done with my first set of mods, just to find out that the top plates are stripped.... So now I wait. This is the worst.... WHY CANT I BE DONE WHY!!!!!!

    1 of the 3 nuts on the top plate is stripped? same thing happened to me..sucks ass. Had to use a dremmel and small cut off wheel to cut the nut away..then chissel'd it off the stud.
    total PITA

    Ya, I am just sending it back. I would not be able to sleep at night knowing that was messed up. Kinda OCD like that.

    Basically goin got just swap top plates and re-install. Prob going to use nylocks also since I don't like having to worry about the nut coming loose.

    But the suspense is killing me!

    I didn't know this forum had a FJ section. Sold my 05 Taco a while back, drove a Subaru WRX for about a year. Sold that, and recently picked up my 2008 FJ 6 speed in Sandstorm. Awesome truck!

    Got my OME lift and Toytec rears installed. It went pretty painless. Took my FJ to the body shop on base and had access to unlimited air tools which made it much easier. Some jackass last week dropped something on his head using a lift so they made me use jacks and jackstands. Now I just need to find some rims and tires. I wish I was made of money so I could buy them now.

    Considering just running these tires for now unless I can find a buyer. They're practically brand new.

    That seems to be the case. I'm hoping if I stay with my GF long-term, we'll trade in her Corolla for an SUV of some type. I want to keep a Subaru car of some sort for quite a while now. :D
