Ok, back on topic...I read in several reports on getting the best gas mileage that you should never let the tank get below 1/2 full. The more empty space available in the gas tank, the faster the gas will evaporate. When the fuel evaporates, you get exactly 0 miles per gallon for the amount of fuel that has evaporated. So far, since reading about this, I've been filling up when I get about 1/2 empty and I seem to be getting slightly better gas mileage.

With bigger tires, the odometer is also wrong. It won't tell you the correct miles because it's calibrated for the smaller stock tires. Don't forget to compensate for that.

I've gotten this as my best. It was on fumes until I filled it up. It is a first gen with no lift 175/65R 17, I think, Goodyear Wrangler babying it at 60 mph 2000 rpm to and from school, about 50 miles round trip. Not letting it shift down, air filter cover removed with filter zip tied to back of case to seal, a/c on speed 2 and coldest setting, Lucas oil fuel treatment used at every fill up bucause I run my truck to the solid light. It comes out to be 24.6 mpg's.

You like em a little thick?

Back on topic, I noticed the fuel gauge will read right at the full line for a loooooong time before it goes below the F line, and then the closer it gets to E the faster it moves

    Does everyone's taco do this?

remember your also sloshing around your gas when you driving, the worst gas mileage i have gotten was 8mpg, but that was when i was hauling 1800lbs in my bed to the dump. would have pulled a trailer too but then i would be at the dump for days unloading everything. PS don't haul 1800lbs in your bed, my truck isn't stock.
