Have any of you all had any issues with the pop n lock for your tailgates? I read some were malfunctioning at times...
Any issues or concerns? I will hopefully be putting one on my 09 Tacoma today but I have read some stuff that worries me. Locking or unlocking on their own, etc.... how durable are these things?

I've had mine jam on me. It finally started working after 3 days of spraying silicone lubricant, and WD-40 into the lock. I then took it apart, and since the tumbler set is not removable because the weather flap is crimped on, I removed the lock from the assembly, and soaked the whole thing in silicone lubricant. When it completely freed up, I reassembled it. Now, I spray silicone lubricant in it whenever it feels a bit stiff, and I have had no problems in the last 4 months. I will have a better idea on how it holds up whhen winter and the road salt comes. There's a write-up somewhere here on replacing the lock. Just do a search.

I did the search. My biggest fear is it locks and jams when the tonneau cover is locked as well. What do you do then?

Well, after about 30 minutes here it is. So far I like it. Pretty easy install!

Mine is working fine right now but it does seem a little flimsy, like the handle might break when I open the tailgate. Also the paint is peeling off and it kinda looks bad

Worst case you have to break the pop n lock to get in. If you look at how it's setup when you install it, then you should be able to break in without messing up the sheetmetal.

No problems here either after a little over a year, I do spray it with lube from time to time. Your install looks good! I have to agree with stunt man hans, I think I was way more mad that this didn't come with the vehicle to begin with! I am finding myself spending more money on things that should have been options.

If you buy the 09-11 model you only have to relocate the camera wiring to move the camera from pass side to drivers side. All parts included.

I had mine for 2.5 years and it jammed locked with the tonneau cover locked as well. I sprayed WD-40, silicone lubricant, and Moovit for over 3 days. I was about to drill it out when it suddenly freed up. I cleaned it up as described in post #4. The paint is starting to bubble, but it hasn't peeled yet, but it's just a matter of time.
