The test is cool but it is biased. Why not use the ZR1 instead of the Z06. The ZR1 would of blistered the hell out of all those cars.

Not really. Just because it has more power doesn't mean it can get the power to the ground. If you watch top gear they did one of these drag races with a ZR1 and it didn't come in first because of the wheel spin.

With similar hp, AWD beats RWD in 1/8-1/4 mile races every time.

Its a cool video, but some of those cars just aren't in the same league as the others. The Lotus, and the Caymen aren't made for straight line speed, but for the twisties. The ZR1 would have been a better choice then the Z06 but it still can't hang with the phenomenal GTR. I would choose the GTR over many sports/super cars simply b/c it's outrageously fast, but is very livable daily.

Cool video, even though it's not a true scientific way to judge who is the fastest in a drag race. And I'm sure the cars didn't leave all at the same time, which can make a huge difference down the line.

Word. Plus I don't think the GTR used Launch Control, b/c when it does it just blasts off the line.

If you are a good drag racer then you can put a hell of a lot of that power to the ground through the ZR1's approx. 13" wide tires. Top gear hosts are idiot American car haters that could not drag race a car to save their lives. All they know how to do is get in and slam the pedal to the floor.

Way to much of a blanket statement. On street I will agree but on a track with DR's or slicks, it's anyone's game. Also, the horsepower of that GTR is 530 and the ZR1 puts down 637. Definitely not similar horsepower.

Most 60' times I have seen for the pre-2012 GTR's are in the 2 second range which is what you can get with the Vette stock. There aren't many numbers available for the 2012 yet, but with roughly 50 extra hp and driveline changes they are probably in the 1.8 area which can be easily achieved by the Vette with some drag radials.

EDIT: I just came across a 2012 GTR pulling a 1.670 60' time. Only problem is that he only finished with an 11.362 so he would have been beat by some of the stock ZR1's(stock tires) that I have seen.

This is a good driver. Stock Everything including TIRES. I think his license plate should be GTR-GTFO:

    Here is a ZR1 pulling down 1.7's with DR's.

Agreed. Plus the vette was the only car produced more towards straight line acceleration. I was scanning through, thought it was the Zr1 and figured it would win... Then noticed it was the Z06

I believe he was referring to the American version of top gear (The driver of the vette loves American cars) but yes that is exactly what he did
