Truck seems down on power

I've noticed (or at least I think I have) that my 2010 TRD pre runner seems down on power to what I remember my 2008 TRD 4x4 having. Both trucks were dbl cab, auto, V6 models. Maybe its in my head, but I swear the 08 truck had more juice than my current truck does. Both trucks are/were bone stock including air filter and exhaust. My current truck has had the gas pedal recall done to it and my 08 didn't, would that affect how the truck ran as far as "punch" when pressing the gas pedal? Any ideas?

 

How many miles on the 2010? Might be time for a new air filter and spark plugs. You can also put injector cleaner through every once in a while to clear it out (I usually run a bottle through a couple times a year).

The 08 had around 23k miles when I had it, and my 2010 has almost 13k miles. So I doubt it needs plugs, I put injector cleaner in it about a month ago.

 

Then I'd agree with others, all in your head There shouldn't be any noticable difference between your 2008 and 2010.

 

Just wash and wax it.... mine always has more power right after I do that.

 

When I recently returned my 09 back to stock I was surprised by the power increase!

 

All of a sudden my 09 felt sluggish, esp in the tranny. Disconnected the battery for 45 min and it seemed to fix it. Worth a shot.

Someone complained of this on ToyotaNation a while back. One suggestion was that the fly-by-wire throttle had been recalibrated at some point around '09? I have no idea, just throwing that out there.
