it does, the saw isn't better than it needs to be, but it does get the job done quite well.

Tyvek isn't completely waterproof....its a permeable vapor barrier. not saying it won't work, just saying you should have a 'plan b'

Anybody thought about using a shower curtain for a tarp? They're cheap and light enough. Just need to add a couple grommets to the bottom. I think the fabric ones would pack better but may not be 100% waterproof. A little scotch guard should get it close right? Just an idea.

its supposedly like gortex in the fact that it keeps water out but lets vapor pass through....I will test it though. I have a 100'x 6' roll i can take from so i figured its worth a shot:D will prolly end up using the siltarp 2
hmm may look into that. I also have a large roll of plastic similar to the clear shower curtains

Should be able to as long as the threads are compatible.

Can fuel is can fuel, no matter what the brand names say.

well i crunched some numbers and it looks like I have a base weight (before food and water and fuel) of around 14-15 pounds with room to cut. I should be able to get down to 11 or 12 pounds fairly easy.
