:der:The Camino is a classic and has been molested by some backwood redneck.

They made thousands and thousands of S10's, so the red one will not be missed in the "I use my truck as a tool" community. That being said the S10 is super clean.

    Who says hydros are worthless.

It's an 89 Toyota Pickup. I got some stuff done to it.. FJ axles going under it soon.
    That's cool ^
as always when video is posted.

but it still takes all the fun out of it..granted I'd love to see a typical suspension setup try that.

Here's a question; do slammed pickups get better mileage than their stock suspension or lifted cousins? I'd be surprised if they actually got better mileage since designs are often optimized aerodynamically.

How are slammed pickups better than us stockers or those with lifted trucks? (Without using looks as any part of the argument) For example is there something particular they can do that others can't?

And what are some downsides? For example, does it hurt the suspension or cause undue damage to the wheel well, make you go slower on bumps, etc?

My lowered s10 would walk circles around a stock or lifted truck in turns but I also ran adjustable coilover set up with adjustable shocks in the rear. As far as MPG I got about the same as stock maybe slightly higher but I also did intake and full exhaust after lowering it.

Edit, yes bumps are taken slower but for me it was to avoid bottoming out my tires not my suspension. My truck held up rather well especially being driven down a washboard dirt road daily

they are not nessisarily BETTER than stock other than the looks, but the argument that oh, slamming/lowering it makes it worthless is nonsense. Of course if you do a shitty job it will suffer, but the same holds true for a shitty lift. When you lower a truck you typically get stiffer suspension so load capacity is the same as stock. Ride height is reduced because of the axle being closer to the frame, but once you are low enough you just notch the frame and there ya go, no more bottoming out. Of course there is a point where you static drop a truck enough and it becomes totally useless because there is no clearance anywhere. But on the other hand there is a point where if you lift a truck enough it too becomes just as worthless for everything except driving on the road. Then if you go full pull and bag your truck the right way it will A: Ride better than a Cadillac because you are riding on literally a cushion of air, B: ride height is adjustable with the flick of a switch from frame dragging to stock height and C : when inflated the bags on the truck can carry more than stock suspension could.

    clear up some confusion:D

No shit, throwing sparks was on purpose, it is a bagged and bodied truck so that is the fun in it. I'll have to throw up some lifted and lowered pics of a bagged truck for some of you that are clueless when it comes to bagged rides.
