Good Brake Pads?

Going to replace the brake pads on my truck?

Anyone have any they recommend?

 

I put on Dura Last they seem to be ok for normal driving.

 

Toyota Pads...

 

ebc yellow or porterfield racing.

 

Why those Space?

I tried Duralast pads and they ate up my rotors

 

Duralast always seem to squeak hence the reason I stopped buying them and got the Toyota pads.

 

Sub'd for later use.

 

Anyone know where I can buy the Toyota brake pads without going to the dealer?

 

If you Google Toyota OME parts a million sites come up. You can choose one that has the best price and have them shipped to you.

 

That's why they are branded "Duralast" - the pads will last forever at the expense of rotors.

 

I'm currently selling some hawk lts brake pads. I was stupid and accidentally ordered 2 boxes I am looking to get $60 shipped if you're interested. Just put on the other set and I am pleased with them so far.

 

Does Hawk make rear brake pads as well?

Im going to replace both the front and rears.

 

I dont know I just replaced my pads on the front. I know that on the 01-04's its shoes in the back not sure on the earlier tacos. I'm sure someone else on here knows.

 

Anyone have input on the rears?

 

shoes in the rear and toyota pads for sure dont put a cheap pad on

 

I tried to get Hawks but ended up with pads for a 6 lug but naturally I didn't figure this out until I had the old pads off. So I ended up with Brakebest Premium from oreilly. They seem to be about what my old brakes were which I think were OEM.

 

Hawk brake pads are good.

 

from my experience, they provide a better cold bite than any other pads ive used. ..also, when used in conjunction with centric premium rotors, they tend to not develop the shakes. that combo just plays well together. ....with stock pads/rotors, i can get about a month of city driving with my 32" tires before the pad starts to deposit material on the roter and starts to shake. i've been running the porterfields for over a year now and they are just as smooth as they were the day after i installed them. i've been running the ebc yellows on my jeep with 33" tires for 2 years and i get the same result ...excellent cold bite, no shakes. ...as far as actual stopping ability, i think the ebc's have a slight edge over the porterfields. ..but either one will do you proud.

i'm sure there are other good pads out there, but i haven't found any that are better than the ebc's or porterfields.
