Price is an extra 46 per tire for 285. So almost 250 bucks more since I need 5 to replace the spare. Treadlightly.org still has the Goodyear rebate which will save me 75 and my boss and I will be making a road trip, so price for shipping should be gas money only/split 2 way.

265's give me an extra 1/2" lift, 285's would give me 1" lift. Might need spacers for 285's and trimming. I'm 90% set on the 265's, but that last 10% is saying bigger...bigger...bigger.... Unfortunately with the DCLB, I need full steering a lot, so I would be more likely to catch a rub.

I'm running the full OME setup with 885's and Dakar packs. Right now I haven't trimmed anything and I rub at full lock in reverse. It's just on the plastic fender well liners on the front of the wheel wells. I need to get around to it , but honestly it's really slight. If the suspension is heavily compressed and the wheels are at full lock, it kinda rubs in the same place. I also have removed all 4 mud flaps.

Of note, the reason I went with the FJ wheels was for the correct backspacing to avoid wheel spacers. Not sure what you'll run into with stock wheels.

Meh, a little rub every now and then isn't the end of the world. A buddy of mine's 35's on his FJ60 rub pretty bad at full stuff, and he's lived to tell about it. :spy:

At the end of the day, if you gotta trim, you gotta trim. There's nothing in there that's too bad to cut away, unless you need to do the cab mounts. Even then, having someone cut them, plate them, and repaint, probably wouldn't cost you more than $150.

    Hah, thanks.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
I have the same lift minus dakars, have you put in new UCA's? i did and now I rub all the time. I used to only rub under full compression.

Yup, Light Racing. I think it's all in the alignment, and I think specifically the caster is the culprit. I had mine done at Southern Offroad in Pelham, AL. They took the time to do it as thoroughly as possible, which includes the following:

    1) Set eccentric adjustments on LCA to center of adjustment range, both on the front and rear mount point for each LCA.

    2) Align using UCA adjustment as close as the granularity of the adjustment will allow. e.g., the LR UCA's I believe adjust in 2* increments for caster.

    3) Torque UCA camber / caster adjustment nut to specified torque value (175 ft lbs I think on the LR UCA's)

    4) Make final alignment adjustments using LCA eccentric adjustment as you would from the factory.

This allows the alignment to be done in the future by only adjusting the lower eccentric adjustment points, rather than having to re-do the UCA adjustment.

The whole alignment costs like $250 for them to do it right, but it takes a lot of time. However, it's well worth it b/c down the road if you have to have it "touched up" they can do it easily for the regular old $80 alignment.
