Hey guys, I'm new to the truck scene so to speak. This is my 98 Taco, I'm planning on lifting it a few inches and putting new wheels on it for starters. I kind of want that "Prerunner" look. Here is what she looks like. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

That first set of wheels wont work... You got yourself a 5 lug there and those wheels are for our 6 lug big brothers.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news here but modding a 5 lug is a very frustrating ordeal full of headaches. I've had way too many parts labeled to fit my truck come only to find they only fit a 6 lug.

Thanks for the info MowTaco, I noticed the lug pattern last night when looking again. I figured that they had them for different lug patterns, but maybe not.

Thanks man, it's black. I've been working for MINI for the last decade, so I've owned 7 between my wife and I. I've tricked out a few. This one was in a couple magazines.

    Agreed

The problem with base model 5 lugs is that it is really expensive to go up. It can be done but at a high cost.

What I would do for lift:
3.5" lift spindles made by Doetsch - http://www.shocksandsuspension.com/showitems_spindles.asp?dc=5

Fabtech makes 3'' Lift coils and Upper arms but they are discontinued.

3'' body lift but people have had mixed opinions on this. I have never herd of any problems personally with my friends running it on their rangers.

But its still a 2wd open diff truck. So IMO I would just lower it and make it a street truck. That is the route I went and I really enjoy it.

There's other manufacturers that make the coil/spindle lift too. You're probably gonna spend $1500 or so in suspension if you go for the full 6". I spent about $600 for just suspension on mine to go up 3"

Here's another manufacturer of 5 lug lifts: http://www.doetsch-shocks.com/22.asp

And my build if you wanna see a little more detail on the route I went with (spindles and shackles): http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/1st-gen-builds/71521-mowtacos-mini-build.html

EDIT: I'm a dumbass... I thought SRQ's link was to the fabtech site but now I realize it was the same doetsche link I posted. DOH!
