    cool was just wondering Matt. there was flash flood and thunderstorms warnings for last night and today around the 135. so i checked the Doppler site on the weather channel and it showed it was raining in Johnson Valley. We dont want to be in Afton Canyon with heavy rain we'll all be stuck. haha. I pm'd that BLM Ranger so im waiting on a response as to the condition of the Canyon.

    If it were bad, we'll bypass it and head in a little further down

    i just checked the weather around the Afton canyon area and it says sunny with a high of 93 but is 81 right now. 3 day shows sunny and perfect :D

    Ok guys for those of you who want a radio PCI race radios sells a kit for 399 with an antenna and magnetic mount with 70 preset channels for race teams. One of which is 153.110. They are out of long beach. I'd post the link up but I'm at work on my phone

    Engage Offroad long travel front and rear with some fat tires.
    pack enough food for all occupants of your truck for 3 to 4 days, especially water... its better to be overstocked... we speak from experience here... hahaha...

    the firepits at the campsites have bbq grills over them so you can do some good ole fashion wood grilling so no real need to bog your truck down with extra cooking supplies unless you want the convenience or the extra weight in the bed for traction...

    just make sure you bring a large supply of ratchet straps as you will hit some good size whoop sections out there and you don't want to end up stopping a lot to pick up your gear as other trucks come barelling at you...

    also, a caveat... once you get to Nipton, y'all be aware that there is an offroad swapmeet that Saturday night/Sunday behind Buffalo Bills at Stateline, so I can only imagine how many prerunners and race trucks will be mobbing down the trail along the train tracks heading against you guys...

    be alert, and be safe, and keep your radios on...

    those with race radios, might want to keep an ear out on 151.625 in case any of the local teams are out romping and chatting....

    good info mike. those that plan on cooking on the fire pit grill...bring some foil to cover the grill. I cook over the fire pit but I use my marshmallow stick over the open flame. works great with hot dogs.
