A poll...just cuz we dont have enough of them

Well I'm fixin to get my 3" toytec lift and i'm narrowed down between the nitto tg and bridgestone duelers. Now I need to figure out what size. For now I would like to get 265/75/16 and then upgrade when its time for tires next time to 285s. Most everybody here with a 3" has 285's though. I'm worried the 265's might be to small and look goofy. I just have these stock wheels that I'll be using:

A little. Why not just go ahead and get the 285s? What's holding you at 265?

 

I'm not really wanting to trim anything just yet. Seems in most cases people are having to trim when going to 285 75s

 

Yeah, if you're getting new tires might as well get the tires that match the lift. Go with the 285. Nothing looks sillyer than a lifted truck with tiny tires.

I see you don't want to trim. Search around here, I'll bet someone has found the right width/offset etc to work without trimming.

 

If you get a tire that isn't too meaty, such as a good A/T, and have the right backspacing and offset, then you shouldn't have to trim. I had to trim, because I have the Toyo M/T, and they have some thick rubber.

Actually, if you have a dremel, and some sandpaper. You can trim where it rubs, and no one can really notice. If you do it right, and keep it clean.

The trimming is easy...

 

I agree go with the 285's. I didn't have to do any trimming on my taco and i'm running that size tire. My only issue was i had the front right tire catch the skid plate. nothing a good ol hammer couldnt fix.

 

If you're talking about 285's on stock rims.....You'll never clear your uca's without spacers.

 

do the 285s forsure.what trimming do you have to do?i'm going to do a 3"lift with 285/75/16 on my stock wheels. if you dont do UCAs, how bad does it hit or rub??? i assume spidertrax spacers??

 

Yeah I'll be on stock wheels so if I get 285 I guess I will need spacers. How much would them cost and what size? Idk anything about them, and I know I cant afford Uca's.

 

I have 285/70 BFG A/T's on mine and had to do little trimming. My wheel is at a 4.75 back spacing also. So maybe a combination of that may help you out, but you should totally get the 285's if thats what you want.
