this is true, yet who knows the true flexing of each frame. I would like to see a 3rd party test done on frames, I haven't seen one yet but hypothetically lets say under a constant load of equal weight and the ford boxed fame flexes 3mm where the tundra would flex 10mm, then to my mind id take the smaller flex value. To some a fully boxed fame may not be important like the previous poster has mentioned, yet I cannot see a draw back in having one and I'm fairly certain many would opt for the same if given the choice. Obviously Toyota has a tough job of converting the big 3 owners which truck loyalty seldom changes.

    Tundra: 80% American, Nuff' said.

    Made in Texas, by Americans.

The other trucks look nice, but the only one that perked my interest was the F-150, but Toyota has proven to my family for over 10+ years that they build reliable cars/trucks. We're sticking to Toyota.

First Toyota we had was a early 90s 4Runner. Never any problems.

The F150 is a good truck, but its sales are fueled by a lot of things. First off, the midwest is heavily Ford territory. Tundras are hard to come by there. Secondly, F150 sales are also fueled by fleet sales for a lot of government agencies. Not saying it's a bad truck, or it doesn't deserve its sales, but you can't really compare sales figures. Lastly, fully boxed frames are marketing gimmiks as already mentioned. The Tundra is a great truck, reliable truck, and in my opinion also has better looks than the F150.

I would say if your going full size and thats the 2 trucks that your going to pick from, go with the F150, there awesome trucks, Tundra is like a big toy in the full size industry:D

Indeed. Everything to sell trucks can be perceived as a marketing gimmik. I am not saying one is more than the other. I am simply not a believer in the Tundra. To each their own, is what it all boils down to. Certain trucks have their purposes and to my mind, the tundra appears to be more of a "play thing" than an actual work horse. There will always be "the better truck" argument. I just don't see the Tundra coming out on top. Fleet sales or not there is someone willing to invest in a set of trucks for their business. The only consensus here besides brand loyalty is that Tacomas are king.

Yup, to each his own. I can see why you feel that way about the Tundra though. Tacomas rape!

dealerships around here are knocking off 5-6k one time. when i was looking at my taco they had 4x4 crews for 2-3 grand less than the trd 4x4 tacos. i wish my tacoma had some tundra trimmings and those seats are just huge. Full size would have been nice if i could use all that space and power. My painting company use to have a whole fleet of f series. they are nice but i personally didnt like the styling at the time. The new ones are better. I cant really give you an opinion because most of the people who work at nike or park in the area around my truck drive raptors and those things make me jelly

Yea, Ford is king in the truck market and people are blind and keep buying them. I don't get your point here about the frame. Have you heard of a Tundra breaking in half from a "more flexible" frame? They still have the best tow ratings around. I've towed cars and my camper no problem. I have seen people towing 10K# RV trailers without a problem. So where is the "big toy" aspect? Big engine, big brakes, big truck. Toyota will never outsell Ford not because it doesn't have a non-fully boxed frame....but because truck drivers are fiercely brand loyal. I am open to any vehicle, and the Tundra is just a better built truck with better offerings IMO. I'll keep driving my Tundra every day to the jobsites and towing with it on the weekends. I hope my frame doesn't bend in half

The other factor that the big three have over the Yotas is the fact that I know I can walk into any Ford, Chevy or Dodge dealer and know I can get them to take off anywhere between 4-6K in price on average. Toyota dealers are a lot harder to get to budge on the price. My brother recently bought a GMC Duramax Crewcab/Longbed and they took off over 11K. Hard to beat that!

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
Because they have to lower the price to sell them. They marekt them with the big stickers and then tell you you are going to get one sweet deal because they like you sport! Oldest sales gimmick in the book; they price it like the competitors, but then knock down the price to stand out, but they are still turning a profit on it.

That being said, they don't budge on many Toyotas, but the Tundra they are marking down to get the name out there and break into a market that is set in their way.

watch for the bed bounce too...liable to lose some paint over it. would hate for your show pony to get a few chips and dents. If it makes you feel important to rebel against american automakers who do make superior 1/2 tons (and we can argue all day about it) then go right ahead. If you work at jobsites as you claim then maybe you would understand engineering and physics or maybe not. facepalm away...

I have no bed bounce issue?? Let me guess, more stuff you read off the internet? That's like saying everyone with a 2000 Tacoma has a frame that rusts in half. Gimme a break. Rebelling? How do you figure? They make a better truck IMO so that is what I have. I've had chevy, ford, and the company has a dodge truck I drive sometimes. Out of all 4 I like the tundra the best.

And show pony, lol. Here's a couple pictures of it at work and play. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed this truck! Less than a year old and already 20K miles on it. Funny enough in stock trim it did better than my american counter-parts in deep snow AND mud. I've jumped several F250 diesels, and pulled quite a few all makes out of the snow storm we had. Country thunder with the mud I was even pulling these poor guys out. Even with the crappy stock tires. Not bad for a show pony!:cheers:

Considering the big 3 have built fullsizes for decades upon decades and toyota started 1 decade ago and look what it already took away from the big 3...give it more time and toyota will take much much more...when the big 3 show there commercials there always comparing it to the tundra.....
