    Changing ball joints kinda sucks...had to do it to a old ford and well lets say those darn things were so well in there that it took about three hours of just hammering and clamping and such to get it out. That said I'm sure toyota's are easier to do.

    To set the record straight, the recall was not because of a ball joint design issue. Though considering how many failures we've seen during the past year or so, maybe it should have been.

    Toyota did the recall for certain trucks that came off a certain assembly line during a certain time period. The story I have heard is that damage to the ball joint may have occurred during installation. The recall was a "just in case" measure by Toyota.

    They can tell if your truck qualifies by its vin #.

    Everyone I've talked to says they are a pain...even though it'll cost a ton I'm leaning towards just taking it to a shop and having it done.

    But you have to consider the age and mileage on the vehicles too. And the ones that have had issues lately have all been lifted to some degree, that adds extra stress to all of the connections.

    Thanks! That pic on the Madi was yesterday morning...I love that stretch of the river and its not often that its deserted, there are usually fishermen swarming all over that place.

    Ahhh...Gull Point. Yes, that is where the one pic of the fire is from. That's one of the few places on the lake side of the park that I like to stop at.

    Me and henry do that trail all the time. That hill is alot steeper than the camera shows:D It connects with another trail that heads back down to the road. And on the way there used to be mountain bike ramps off to the left of the trail.

    It was a pretty cool road. I found that road at night and going up that hill all I could see was the stars:eek:
