Sorry the dealership pissed me off and i havent looked at this thread since, but they made me drop my truck off to get the ride height test done, but failed to mention that my bed had to be completely empty. I dropped off the truck with my UWS low profile toolbox in the bed, which was completely empty except for a life jacket and a fishing net. Anyway I went to pick it up and they told me that the truck was out of spec and failed the test, which i was happy to hear. The dealership called Toyota to order the parts and the rep asked if the bed was empty before we got too far, and since it wasnt, he wouldnt order the parts for me, and said id have to get the test done with a completely empty bed. Ughh. The next day I dropped it off again, empty bed, and i picked it up and was told the truck passed and nothing was wrong and there was nothing they could do. That toolbox isn't that freakin heavy, I can lift it in and out by myself no sweat. I feel like they coulda just been full of shit but whatever, just gonna get an AAL or new pack when i install the lift.

My leafs are flat when unloaded as well almost like a negative arch spring pack. (Which is not supposed to happen.) I haul 2 and 3 atvs at a time so i would go with the tsb and level the front. Just my opinion because with the TSB and a leveler, 265's will fit fine.

Yeah that doesn't help at all. I had it with me every time I was at the dealership, they dont care. The tsb is not intended for the public and all it really does is acknowledge the problem and instruct Toyota on how to fix The issue. If you are over the 3yr/30k mile warranty, Toyota will only replace the springs if the springs exhibit mechanical failure or are literally broke. They determine "mechanical failure" by the ride height test. Trust me I tried everything, I had the dealership rep call Toyota corporate on speaker phone on 2 seperate occasions, and since my truck passed the ride height bullshit, I was told they could not help me. My truck sits level, but it shouldn't be about sitting level or at the right ride height, my springs still bottom out when I'm under a load, the issue is that the springs don't support the load the truck is be rated for. So if anyone has had success getting the repair done when they were passed the 3yr/30k mile mark, if like to know about it.

My Grandad has the same truck as mine (2011 Tacoma TX) and his springs are on the way

    This is crap Dan.

I did mine Sat on my 2011 and i did one today along with another one on the other side of the shop.

I have no idea where all this checking ride height crap is coming from.
It's a customer "harsh ride" complaint. If your vehicle has an issue while loaded. (not overloaded) then it's a no brainer. YOUR COMPLAINING..
    3/36.......

The tsb Is for the public...................

    Call the corporate phone number.
    Good luck...

I think a key thing to remember here is that my truck is a 2006 with ~60k miles on it, so I am way passed the warranty qualifications that apply to the TSB. On the TSB it specifically states that it covers vehicles under 30k miles. Even with my extended platinum warranty with toyota care and all that crap, they still won't help me out. I'm sure it would be a completely different story if I were still under 30k miles/3yrs. And I totally agree, this repair should be about the truck not being able to support the load its rated for. My bump-stops are all marked up from bottoming out, and I hardly ever haul anything much heavier than my Honda Fourtrax 300, which is not very heavy at all.

And I have called corporate 3 times, twice while in the dealership office on speaker phone with a service rep. No luck.

I am going to be in the same boat as you in the near future since I have an extended warranty.

I am going to have to wait a month or so but pretty much same issues as you have. Double cab leafs are laid out flat and you can see where the bumps stops rub and it rides like hell with a load.

I agree it should not be about ride height but the load capacity stated.

So if you take in a truck and have less tire PSI or shorter height tire than stock you might pass?? Or are they measuring from axle to bed distance?? Odd overall.

Go get some lead and load up the rear seat storage areas. Should help a bunch.

Odd you buy a warranty and they will not help with the problem. I hope my platinum warranty works for me in the future and does not need a completely failed part for a repair.

I guess i am gonna throw my hat in here as well. i bought my Tacoma at the beginning of Sept. labor Day to be exact and I love it but my leafs look like those posted above. Freakin flat! This is the first truck I have owned so I am trying to do a little research on it before I go into the dealership guns blazing. I have 41k miles on mine and of course no factory warranty but I do have the extended coverage. Gotta make my appointment to get mine checked out too. I was getting ready to do the whole leaf helper backwards thing just to see if it stopped the judder I get from taking off and stopping.

It never hurts to ask. Ext warr. is a hit and miss. All depends on what you have.
How you approach them is up to you. To add a leaf (OR 2) is not that big a deal if they won't go for it. Of course big to you. Not trying to lessen your anger here. If you can show good reason then that's a plus. Maybe someone on here has swapped out for a different setup. Add two leafs from them if you think you need to. Just saying.
    I wish you well.
