I just skimmed through the post, so correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the OP ask TW's opinion to see if he overreacted? Why is it that when the LEO chimes in and said the OP DID overreact everyone flipped out? I've never been a cop and don't plan to, but I know a thing or two about little situations escalating into life threatening (or taking) situations. The LEO has his opinion, and is legally right. As far as flat out cop bashing, I've never understood it. Yea there are over zealous cops that give all cops a bad name, but guess what, that is in EVERY profession in the world. Just like being a Soldier. Yes OP, you overreacted. It was an immature act on both of your parts. He wasn't hurt and your truck is ok, so let it go and learn from it. Your family is the only thing in this world worth being that protective over. Yes, I have a temper too, and can't promise that I wouldn't go off on someone for messing with my truck, but from the outside looking in, try to think through the full situation next time. How in the hell did this escalate into a "I'd whip out my balls and pull my gun" post?? People like y'all are why the liberal left doesn't want us to be able to exercise our 2nd Amendment rights.

Here is my thoughts on this.

If you walk out of a store after shopping and someone you don't know is jumping up and down in your truck what would you do? Whether he is damaging my property or not he is doing things that should not be done to my truck by him. I can dent, beat, and even wreck my truck a stranger cannot.

Would what I do be legal absolutely not. I understand that but the law isn't always right or for that matter mostly.

This reminds me of that laws thoughts on a fight. As told earlier about the Fireman being in trouble for fighting and winning. It was a fight someone wins someone loses. Should they be punished for fighting sure but that's as far as it should go. Its a fight, both parties are intending to do harm to the other. Simple as that.

I'm not bashing Tiger are any officers I respect them for what they do, whether they agree with the laws or not it is their jobs to enforce them. When I react I know the possibilities and will pay for them as it is seen fit. If I feel I am correct I will act, its how I'm built.

Great idea, because are okay on school grounds. Hopefully you have a good attorney who can convince jury that your life is endangered by a kid throwing trash in and jumping in your truck, because even in Texas it is not shot to kill because someone is on your property.

That's just the way I pictured it. Some little kid pulling out Daddy's gun after a 20 min session of how grandpa taught him how to shoot. (So now he is a weapons expert.) Pulling out his balls to show he is a man and pointing his pea shooter at another High School kid because someone is jumping in the bed of the truck.

Look up Joe Horn on Google. He had far less reason to be afraid than someone jumping in his truck unexpectedly, he even shot one guy in the back, and he walked away with no charges.

I'm not saying he did a good thing, I am just saying the law in Texas is stacked in your favor in a situation like this.
