Disclaimer: I know in the end I will have to make the final decisions just need to run this by a few who have gone through this before ie. trading in!
    I hate it. :(

Ok trading my 2006 Toyota Tacoma DC 4WD SB SR5 64k own outright it could use some things soon, brakes service. Otherwise it is clean. Tried to sell on CL no offers even at 17500......so

Dealers have been all over the map with trade ins. One sales guy tried to give me a lesson in economics and the recession.
His offer was 15k no higher on my trade & talked down other dealerships. He was in N. NH with Groups in VT, ME, NH. HIs Tundra price same truck was 29942 firm. No budging & was kinda insulting.

The deal on the table now from a Mass Dealership near Lowell...

2011 Toyota Tundra DC 4.6L - MSRP 32,923 sell for 28,552 using USAA buying
They offered me 17k for my truck.
Total cost including TTL & doc fees is $12,727.

No one in Vermont can touch list for their stock of model year 2011 4.6 is dwindling....all 5.7L left. No Mag Grays in 4.6

Anybody out of Lowell deal with the Toyota Dealer there? Good or bad please!
ps I put this in 2GEN for I am trading my 2GEN truck didn't know where to put the thread, mods move if need be...mainly looking for 2GEN trade experiences. Thanks!

Congrats on the new truck!! Where'd you end up going, the dealership in Lowell? What's the dealership's name, Ira and Prime are actually decent enough, Boch down here can make good deals but they are a nightmare to deal with!

So.... what kind of Tacoma stuff you got?

Of course I still want to do the Christmas Exchange and laugh at all the jokes and bump TacomaWorldminicity. :woot:

I went through Acton in Littlefield. I kicked it around all the dealers in VT. No one had the truck I wanted due to end of model year. So I went through USAA buying services. I tried so many dealers it made me crazy :goingcrazy:
One especially were jerks. Acton was very professional and no one could beat their price. I let them all know what I was my numbers were & tried to be fair. So in the end it was the deal above squeezing a couple of add ons & I keep everything off my truck. They did not want any of it. So yeah will be selling
    weathertechs
    Wet Okoles
    Cap
    Thule Rack
    Rims/Winter tires
    TRD Smoked Headlights
    Inchannel Visors
Bed Mat though I might use that.
I guess that is all I can think of.....

Did you know of or heard of Acton? They got good reviews all over the place & did not talk down any other dealership. Pretty straightforward. I love the accent too. ;)

I do know of Acton, it's not that far from me actually. I live further south and bought from Prime in Dedham. They used to be really good but their sales manager went to another Toyota dealership and I don't know if I'd go back (he was really good and the reason I bought from them in the first place). I still can't stand the MA accent! It's hit or miss depending on the town your in (I'm a transplant, not a MA native ).

Have you checked out if Simon is OK with the trade? He might not be able to see over the dash when driving!

    Congrats on the new truck!

I do not yet have pics only because I won't be trading until next week (just put a deposit down) & I now have a local buyer who is willing to give me more than the dealer with the mods. He is checking out the truck Sunday when I get back in town. More info forthcoming.

It depends on what he wants to buy with the truck. If he doesn't take it & the truck goes to dealer, will be able to post pics for sure!

Agree with the hit & miss per town. The salesman had a strong accent!

LOL that is great & sig worthy. Thanks! :)

Thank you for the info on them. The staff was very professional & did not slam other dealers whatsoever. Very straightforward no bs. I liked that. I did notice they were not open Sundays too.

Thank you. None of it yet but will post pics soon!

I had an interested buyer who will give me more than the trade & expressed interest in some of the items. If he doesn't buy & the truck gets traded I will post a thread next week with pics.

Congrats Judy on the new truck. I'm Simon will enjoy the bigger cabin. I'm surprised you got not one offer on your Tacoma, the price wasn't out of line. Well the good thing is the dealer gave you close to what you were asking which should save you on the tax of the new Tundra. You got ot give us a review of the Tundra at some point. I've been thinking about upgrading myself.
