the 2012 rocks......front end looks so much more modern than previous models, as does the interior. You guys with 11's and earlier....no need to defend your vehicle...the tacoma is a nice vehicle, all years.....but, you all do sound a bit silly trying to say the 12 doesn't look nice. For the few of you that were honest enough to say..."although I just bought an '11, the '12 looks nice"...max props to you.....for all you 12 haters....quit kidding yourself...you sound silly. Even you OZ-T....you know you like the '12..

I am glad I waited for these to come out....

I like the interior changes. the new front end looks like it was talking when it should have been listening, and they really messed up the lines on the front fender flares, looks awful.

My other car is a 2008 Mustang. When the 2010's came out....almost everyone was bashing them....a lot of plastic on the rear end valance. The people that ran out and bought a 10 were constantly defending their purchase.....at first....then you see posts from the same guy a few weeks/months later...admiitting they didn't like the rear-end on the brand new car they just bought.

Point is.....most of you saying you don't like the 12 (because you own an earlier version) will soon come around and be honest with yourself. Its cool...we'll wait for you to come around.

It does look a little better in white, but it still looks ugly.

Interior looks the same to me except the steering wheel and and a few buttons underneath the climate control.

And who cares if it has a higher resale value than the 11', It still dosent justify having to drive around in a ugly ass truck for the next 5-10 years.

front end doesn't match with the rest of the truck. It looks good, and the back looks good, but it doesn't match unfortunately.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion....you obviously think that blue truck of yours is cool...but I think that color is feminine....and the wheels look goofy....again, just my opinion.

You have to admit that most people with an 11 are going to be critical of the 12....its expected and only natural to do that...I understand....I've seen this before when the 2010 Mustangs came out....it was funny....you would see post from a guy bashing the new look of the Mustang...then a week or two later...you would see the same guy saying..."it's growing on me"......

    I think the 12 makes the 11 look outdated......but I guess I am biased too because I will soon own a 2012.

I picked up a 2012 Tocoma brochure, I'm sorry to report it appears speedway blue color has been discontinued. I could think of a few other colors Toyota could have dropped first. Oh well a speedway blue Tacoma will be a classic now!

I happen to think that if someone came out with so baja style fiberglass fenders that blended the new front end with the rest of the body it would look good. It wouldnt hurt to have a LT lift as well..Having the bugged out glass fenders would make all the lines work. Just my .02

I personally think Toyota went the cheap route by just putting a new front end and few minor interior upgrades on the 2nd gen truck, instead of coming out with an actual 3rd gen. Although it wouldn't matter to me either way I am not likely to ever by another Toyota truck.

I just bought a 2012 Tacoma TRD Off Road Double cab with 6 miles. It now has 306. Yesterday I took it over a local mountain pass (Bolam Pass). I took it pretty easy on the way over, trying to get a feel for where all my wheels are, what I can and can't drive over, etc. I'll admit that I was pretty impressed. It took the water crossings and land mines (mud puddles) like a champ. On the way back over I locked the rear diff and flexed it out a little more and pushed things a little harder. I have just a few complaints, and I can't be sure they are 2012 specific, but:

#1 I want to be able to lock it up while not in 4-low

#2 I want to be able to turn traction control completely off, it caught me off-gaurd when I was sliding around a turn and the damn traction control took my truck away at 30mph.

#3 the mud-flaps drag, they're nice and flexible so they didn't break or anything, I just hate wondering what that noise is...

on a related topic anyone know how to remedy problem 1 or 2 or know where i can find some shorty mud flaps?

Brand new to Tacomas, and Tacoma world. Been reading posts for a few weeks, love it. you guys rock.

PS- stereo is B.A. I think the front end looks mean, a Gen 3 would have been sweet. But I'm not complaining.

Fugly. Everything about it, including the interior.

I'm not a "hater", I just personally think the changes are for the worse.

To each their own, enjoy your new truck.

I personally really like the pics of the interior I have seen. However I do not like the new front end, and will certainly not trade mine in for one. I would rather trade mine in on an overstock 11 than a 12. I will wait it out for a gen 3 if/when it happens or I need a new truck.
