I'm pretty sure the white is a permenant part of the sidewall. Ever seen a worn tire with raised while letters? The sidewall turns white where there are no letters.
Leave/put them on the inside.

 

This may also be true. It would prob look best to just have the letters turned inside, although you'd have to pay to have that done. Might wana search or google an alternative cheap method if you don't wana spend the moniez

 

They are already on the inside, my OCD ass just hates the fact that i can see them. Ended up hitting them with a paint marker, should last a few hundred miles. Another note, no rubbing with the 285's before 1.5 inch spacers, now rubbing at full lock, fml.

put on the spacers because the tires were about an inch from my UCAs, distinct lack of warm an fuzzy. Same reason I am doing swaybar relocate and front diff drop. Though I must say that i wasn't anticipating the rub, damn geometry...

 

Mine rub on passenger side, in reverse, turning left only. Weird.
