This will result in a nice power boost, especially on a forced induction vehicle. Basically eliminates the secondary cats for a less restrictive exhaust.

I bought this as kind of an experiment, to see what power gain I would get. I did notice an instant low torque gain, and a little more top end power, but it was definitely louder than I wanted my daily driver.

I actually wanted to compare this to the Doug Thorley pipe bomb, and it was not as noisy as the DT, but I prefer a little quieter exhaust, even if it results in less power.

This also has bung welded in place right at the exit, if you want to run a wide band af. Seals up nicely if you do not want to run one

How do you know the DT y pipe is louder? Did you at one time have the DT on your truck?

 

Yes, I have had both the DT and the URD. The URD is made out of a thicker gauge steel and does not resonate through the floor boards as the DT does. Both are a good deal louder than stock though.

 

that surprises me as the URD does not have the resonators. I'm interested in picking up a similar y pipe, but I'm transitioning from a 2wd to a 4wd and I believe yours only fits 2wd.
